The death troopers are an elite variant of the Galactic Empire's stormtroopers. They served during the Galactic Civil War for the Empire. Their name comes from a legend of a failed Advanced Weapons Research Project in which undead stormtroopers were created. In order to become a death trooper, the most elite stormtroopers were chosen to undergo special training on Scarif. They also cybernetic implants. Both of these improvements were to make them far superior in loyalty, and physically than normal stormtroopers.

The death troopers used weapons such as the E-11D, C-25 Fragnation Grenade, and the E-11D.

Their armour was also superior compared to the regular mass produced stormtroopers armour because of the coat of polymer, and the black color to assist in stealth missions.
