About the author

First and foremost a comic creator, Kirkman has seen groundbreaking success in the adaptation of his comic book titles into major franchises in all forms of content. In 2010, his Eisner award winning series, The Walking Dead, was developed into an AMC television series. It has become a worldwide phenomenon as the highest-rated basic cable drama of all time and is the #1 show on television among the coveted 18-49 demo. The property has also been extended into a blockbuster game franchise, licensing business and ongoing publishing success.
Kirkman also serves as consulting producer of The Talking Dead, the popular talk show hosted by Chris Hardwick that deep dives into each week’s episode of both The Walking Dead and its companion series Fear the Walking Dead. Kirkman is co-creator, writer and producer of The Walking Dead’s companion series, Fear the Walking Dead.
He is also executive producer of the AMC series Robert Kirkman’s Secret History of Comics, and the Korean pre-apocalyptic drama, Five Year. Kirkman’s popular demonic-exorcism comic, Outcast, was adapted, produced and airs on Cinemax.
For the big screen, Kirkman will produce Invincible based on his long-running popular comic book. The project will be written, directed and produced by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg for Universal Pictures. Other credits include AIR featuring Norman Reedus and Academy Award nominee, Djimon Hounsou.
Additional Kirkman comics include Super Dinosaur, Battle Pope, Astounding Wolf-Man, and Thief of Thieves.
Robert is also the Chairman of Skybound Entertainment. Robert, an advocate for creator rights, co-founded Skybound alongside his longtime business and producing partner David Alpert in an effort to ensure creators are able to maintain their intellectual property rights and creative control.

- Reviewed in the United States on April 20, 2021Invincible is a series that I have loved through it's entire run. In fact, I think that it is my most favorite run of a superheroes comic ever. Is it ending? Yes. Is it starting to get the mainstream acknowledgement that I have felt that it has deserved for years? Also yes. With it recently being released as cartoon series geared towards the same audience as the comics were, it has brought me great joy. But that joy is tempered with sadness, as this is nearing the end of the comic series.
This series has ever shied away from looking at some hard truths. The characters grow organically and behave in a manner, for better or worse, that makes sense. There is death, and there is grief. But there is also love and joy.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 15, 2020It feels like I have fewer words for this than ever. This volume was more about anticipation building than anything. So much building up to the next book. Still amazing though. The quieter and louder moments.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 4, 2017One of the only books I still follow anymore and unfortunately one of the hardest to find in an actual comic book shop. It baffles me how so many people sleep on this book yet love Kirkman's Walking Dead. I'm sad to see this series ending, but I can't wait till Vol 25 comes out.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 26, 2019great thanks
- Reviewed in the United States on October 3, 2017Great superhero comic, will miss it when it's gone.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 14, 2021Great read. Weaker part of the arc though.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 17, 2018Good series!
- Reviewed in the United States on October 4, 2019We’ve reached the end, kids. Along with an immediate reminder that Mark has no class. To be fair, it’s easy to forget he’s still in his early twenties.
On the other hand, he’s experienced a lot in his short life, and he and Eve have even progressed through the hero’s journey to the evolution phase beyond that of the hero. The two of them are better together, and as a pair, nothing can stop them.
This collection is excellent at showing the true cost of war, even what amounts to a civil war between the Viltrumites. Thragg’s clone army is absolutely terrifying on multiple levels. Ryan Ottley portrays gory battles extremely well on the page, showing the visceral horror of combat without tipping over the top to caricature.
I’m not surprised that the final showdown will occur over Earth. Nor am I surprised that Rex isn’t able to keep himself out of things in the most terrifying way possible. In a way, he’s become even less human than the Viltrumites who have come to call Earth home.
Time to jump immediately into the finale, even though I don’t want this epic to finish.

5.0 out of 5 stars Closing in on the end....
I've loved every volume of Invincible and this is no exception. Part 1 of a 2 parter to bring the entire saga to a close - gutted! - here we have as gory, violent and flat-out fun a volume as we've ever had. I'm really gonna miss this universe.
