Districts amalgamated are nothing but a quite essential administrative stratum of the Bangladeshi administrative, organizational system. (Corresponding to the power balance of a district). A district is under the jurisdiction of a division.
In 1772, the governor-general of the British East India Company to India, Warren Hastings, made the first effort to introduce the modern district administration system. He divided complete Bangladesh into 19 districts and appointed a collector in every district for further maintenance.
The District system was made abolished and withdrawn in 1773, and the provincial administrative infrastructure was introduced. All the district headquarters were replaced under the governance of the provincial state office.
In 1787, the district system was deployed again, and this time Bangladesh was divided into 14 different districts. On the basis of the course of time, the number of districts increased, and in 1947, at the time of the remarkable India-Pakistan segregation, there used to be 17 districts in the concerned territory. At the time of the establishment of a new country Bangladesh, there were 19 districts. Then, President Ershad started ameliorating all the Mahakuma’s ( notable sub-divisions) into districts.
In a district headquarter, a thousand government official works. But the District Controller is the authoritative one and only liable to the cabinet.
