Crafty Shield (Japanese: トリックガード Trick Guard) is a non-damaging Fairy-type move introduced in Generation VI. Prior to Generation VII, it was one of the signature moves of Klefki.
Effect
Crafty Shield protects all Pokémon on the user's side of the field from status moves. It does not protect against moves that the user is using on itself or that target the user's side of the field (so an ally can still use Acupressure on itself or Aromatherapy). It also does not protect against entry hazard moves or moves that target all Pokémon such as Perish Song.
Crafty Shield can be used consecutively without failing.
Moves that break protection, like Feint, will remove the effects of Crafty Shield.
Generation VII
If powered up by a Fairium Z into Z-Crafty Shield, the user's Special Defense stat is raised by one stage.
Generation VIII
Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl
Crafty Shield cannot be selected in a battle.
Generation IX
Crafty Shield cannot be selected in a battle.
