Per previous deletion discussions, and the big bold "don't even think about it" notice at the top of the relevant category, this image is very likely still under copyright. ("Life of artist plus 70 years" doesn't apply because engraver didn't die til 1966. "PD/CC-BY-SA" doesn't apply because is derivative work.) Guliolopez (talk) 18:29, 23 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Delete. It's free in the US because the design was created before 1923, but not in the country of origin (Sweden), so its not free enough for Commons. ViperSnake151 (talk) 19:03, 23 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Deleted. As explained by the nominator (and in more detail in the previous deletion requests.), this is a copyright violation. Mormegil (talk) 20:43, 25 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The medal design itself is in the public domain in the United States, because it was published before 1923. It remains under copyright in its country of origin (Sweden) until 2037 (the first full year after 70 years following the death of sculptor/engraver Erik Lindberg (1873—1966)).  Delete. Per nom, and my own previous nom, umpteen other discussions over the years, and the big shouting ""don't even think about uploading images of a Nobel Prize medal to Commons" tag at the top of the eponymous category. Images of the Nobel Prize medal are just not Commons-compatible. In honesty I wonder if these titles should all be salted.... Guliolopez (talk) 17:10, 17 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
