Deutsch: Das Wappen erinnert mit den Farben Gold und Rot an die früheren Zugehörigheiten zum Hochstift Münster sowie zur Grafschaft Cappenberg. Die Rose entstammt dem Wappen des Reichsfreiherrn Heinrich Friedrich Karl vom und zum Stein, der 1816 das Schloss Cappenberg sowie die umliegenden Ländereien erworben hatte. Das Eisensymbol erinnert an den Fund von Raseneisenerz sowie die daraufhin im Jahre 1826 in Altlünen-Wethmar gegründete Gewerkschaft Eisenhütte Westfalia. Das Wellenband symbolisiert die Lage der Gemeinde an der Lippe. |
