I painted his toenails.

I have a 15month old son. He dropped a can on his big toe and has a huge bruise under the nail. Nearly all of it is black and blue. Part to cover it up and part for fun, I painted DS's toenails and tealy blue color. DS liked it while I was painting... DH wants me to take it off.

What do you all think?

*I will reluctantly take off the polish later tonight... closer to bed time.*

  • Leave it. Nail polish is a construct...

  • I don't see a big deal. I know plenty of families that do it. My dh gets uncomfortable when ds walks around in dd's princess heels and the crown on his head with his buzz and woody dolls. I brush it off..

I know thats different than painting toes, but I think more dads have problems with it than moms do. Maybe not all, but some definently

  • Leave it!!!

Tell your DH it will not make him catch the gay and anyone who mocks him or you can stuff it! It's a great color. :) When ODS sees me painting ODD's nails he inevitably wants his done too, though usually in a more "boyish" color that's to his taste. I've never heard a word against it.

  • Leave it on, what is it hurting? Why does your husband want you to take it off?

  • Oh! I should take off the blue and put pink. See how DH likes that "But honey, you told me to take off the blue. You didn't say anything about putting on a new color. I just thought you didn't like the blue." Tongue out

  • He thinks it's silly - that's why he wants it off. Boys aren't supposed to wear polish... yadda yadda.

  • If you can get your kid to sit still long enough for toe nail polish, leave it! ODD would never sit still long enough for that!
  • I think it's cute. My DH wouldn't like it tho. I paint my 22 month old daughters toes all the time. It's so freaking cute!

These are her toes right now

And this is a few weeks ago. We have 'piggy parties' and paint our toes twice a month. :)

  • He thinks it's silly - that's why he wants it off. Isn't childhood the time to do silly things?

Boys aren't supposed to wear polish... yadda yadda Who says? Did I miss an official nailpolish proclamation somewhere?

  • Let your DH remove it if he doesn't like it.
