The mutual trust between Terna and its stakeholders is essential in order to achieve the Group’s objectives. The criteria and methods applied to create and maintain this trust have been identified by Terna through a process which began with reviewing the Stakeholder Map, updated from the 2006 version which laid the foundations for drafting of the Group’s Code of Ethics. The result is an increase in the number of categories from 8 to 12, split into 73 sub-categories.

In 2015, once this process was completed, the “Stakeholder Management Model” was defined, in line with the AA1000 Stakeholder Engagement Standard (SES) developed by AccountAbility. The model includes mapping and ranking of the significance of stakeholders and a matrix detailing the optimum methods for guiding Terna’s approach regarding stakeholder-engagement activities.

The Model also defines a monitoring system for concrete achievement of engagement activities and allows sharing of opinions and expectations of shareholders and their level of satisfaction in relations with Terna.

In 2016, the first annual monitoring activity was performed alongside updating of the material analysis represented using the matrix which sums up the significance evaluations of themes which are important for Terna from the perspective of the Group’s management and stakeholders.
