Navigating change and seasons: November exploration
“When the winds of change blow, remember…
sometimes what appears dead is simply preparing for a new season.”

— Jane Lee Logan
For many, November marks a moment when the seasons shift from fall to winter and an hour is lost due to daylight savings time. This shift also leads to the anticipation of changes ahead, the acknowledgment of the accompanying unknowns, and a flurry of emotions.

As our last newsletter of 2024, we wanted to share some articles and activities that blend the beauty of art and science with the spirit of the seasons while providing resources for you to help your students navigate any emotions they might be trying to process during this time. We also have some fantastic free virtual teacher professional development opportunities in December, and NSF is celebrating 75 years with an opportunity for your talented students to showcase their game development skills and create their vision for the future.

We hope you have a wonderful holiday season and a happy new year. In 2025, we look forward to sharing more ways to engage your students in science.
