[[File:Information orange.svg|25px|alt=Information icon]] Please do not introduce [[WP:LINK|links]] in actual articles to [[WP:DRAFT|draft]] articles, as you did to [[:Chennai Super Kings–Mumbai Indians rivalry]]. == Minor edits == |
|||
[[File:Smiley.svg|25px|alt=We are here to help you]] I do not know how it happened, but you recently marked [https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Pimpri-Chinchwad&curid=1521969&diff=1151807901&oldid=1150330648 this edit] to the article on [[:Pimpri-Chinchwad]] as minor. "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia—it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as [[typographical error|typo corrections]] or reverting obvious [[Wikipedia:Vandalism|vandalism]]. Your edit added two sentences: |
|||
:"It is the fifth largest city in [[Maharashtra]] and the [[List of most populous cities in India|nineteenth largest city by population]] in India. The city is located {{cvt|135|km}} southeast from the state's capital [[Mumbai]]." |
|||
It was clearly not a minor edit. Any edit that changes the ''meaning'' of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Please see [[Help:Minor edit]] for more information. Thank you. <!-- Template:uw-minor --><span style="font-family:Monotype Corsiva;font-size:10pt;color:#000000">--[[User:Toddy1| Toddy1]] [[User talk:Toddy1|(talk)]]</span> 11:04, 26 April 2023 (UTC) |

[[File:Information_orange.svg|alt=Information icon|25x25px]] Hi Sreein Sreedhar! Please stop marking edits as minor when they are not. You did that with seven consecutive edits at [[:Pune]], so I have reverted them (there were other problems with at least one of the edits). As was explained to you several weeks ago, "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia—it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as [[typographical error|typo corrections]] or reverting obvious [[Wikipedia:Vandalism|vandalism]]. Any edit that changes the ''meaning'' of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Please see [[Help:Minor edit]] for more information. [[File:Information.svg|25px|alt=Information icon]] Thank you for [[Special:Contributions/Sreein Sreedhar|your contributions]] to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied the language pie chart with its sources from the article on [[:Mumbai]] into the page on [[:Pune]] and changed the numbers. It gives us very little confidence that you really looked at the sources you cited when you behave like that. If you had looked at the sources, you would have spotted that one of the sources was a newspaper article about the population of Mumbai. |
|||
Please note that whilst you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, [[WP:Copyrights|Wikipedia's licensing]] does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an [[Help:Edit summary|edit summary]] at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and [[Help:Link#Wikilinks|linking]] to the copied page, e.g., <code>copied content from <nowiki>[[page name]]</nowiki>; see that page's history for attribution</code>. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{tl|copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. Please provide attribution for this duplication if it has not already been supplied by another editor, and if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, you should provide attribution for that also. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at [[Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia]]. Thank you. <!-- Template:uw-copying --><span style="font-family:Monotype Corsiva;font-size:10pt;color:#000000">--[[User:Toddy1| Toddy1]] [[User talk:Toddy1|(talk)]]</span> 08:17, 8 May 2023 (UTC) |

[[File:Information.svg|25px|alt=Information icon|link=]] Hello. Thank you for [[Special:Contributions/Sreein Sreedhar|your contributions]] to [[Wikipedia:About|Wikipedia]]. I noticed that your recent edit to [[:Pune]] did not have an [[Help:Edit summary|edit summary]]. You can use the edit summary field to explain your reasoning for an edit, or to provide a description of what the edit changes. Summaries save time for other editors and reduce the chances that your edit will be misunderstood. For some edits, an adequate summary may be [[Wikipedia:Edit summary legend|quite brief]]. |
|||
The edit summary field looks like this: |
|||
{{The edit-summary field/OOUI}} |
|||
'''Please provide an edit summary for every edit you make.''' With a [[WP:ACCOUNT|Wikipedia account]] you can give yourself a reminder to add an edit summary by setting {{myprefs|3|check=Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary}}, and then click the "Save" button. |

[[File:Nuvola apps important.svg|25px|alt=Warning icon]] Please stop marking edits as minor when they are not. And stop making edits without doing an edit summary. You have been told about this before. [https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Pune&diff=1153794372&oldid=1153779556 This edit] to the article on [[:Pune]] had both these problems. |

|||
An article you recently created, [[Draft:Chennai Super Kings–Royal Challengers Bangalore rivalry|Chennai Super Kings–Royal Challengers Bangalore rivalry]], is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more in-depth coverage about the subject itself, with citations from [[WP:RS|reliable]], [[WP:IS|independent sources]] in order to show it meets [[WP:GNG]]. It should have at least three, to be safe. And please remember that interviews, as primary sources, do not count towards GNG.<small>([[WP:42|?]])</small> Information that can't be referenced should be removed ([[WP:V|verifiability]] is of [[WP:5|central importance]] on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to [[Wikipedia:Draftspace|draftspace]] (with a prefix of "<code>Draft:</code>" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's [[WP:GNG|general notability guideline]] and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page.[[User:onel5969|'''<span style="color:#536895;">Onel</span><span style="color:#ffb300;">5969</span>''']] [[User talk:Onel5969|<i style="color:blue">TT me</i>]] 14:09, 20 May 2023 (UTC) |

==Recent edit reversion== |
|||
In this edit [https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Pimpri-Chinchwad&diff=1158822939&oldid=1158793823 here], I reverted some information that appears to be a violation of our [[Wikipedia:Copyrights|copyright policy]]. |
|||
I provided a brief summary of the problem in the edit summary, which should be visible just below my name. You can also click on the "view history" tab in the article to see the recent history of the article. This should be an edit with my name, and a parenthetical comment explaining why your edit was reverted. If that information is not sufficient to explain the situation, please ask. |
|||
I do occasionally make mistakes. We get hundreds of reports of potential copyright violations every week, and sometimes there are false positives, for a variety of reasons. (Perhaps the material was moved from another Wikipedia article, or the material was properly licensed but the license information was not obvious, or the material is in the public domain but I didn't realize it was public domain, and there can be other situations generating a report to our Copy Patrol tool that turn out not to be actual copyright violations.) If you think my edit was mistaken, please politely let me know and I will investigate. Welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions, but in one of your recent edits, it appears that you have added original research, which is against Wikipedia's policies. Original research refers to material—such as facts, allegations, ideas, and personal experiences—for which no reliable, published sources exist; it also encompasses combining published sources in a way to imply something that none of them explicitly say. Please be prepared to cite a reliable source for all of your contributions. Thank you. Materialscientist (talk) 10:52, 9 December 2018 (UTC)

[edit]Hello, Sreein Sreedhar. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "List of tallest building in Pune".

[edit]Hello, I'm Oshwah. I noticed that in this edit to Left Democratic Front (Kerala), you removed content without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, the removed content has been restored. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 08:38, 19 May 2021 (UTC)
Your recent editing history at Left Democratic Front (Kerala) shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See the bold, revert, discuss cycle for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.
Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you do not violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 08:39, 19 May 2021 (UTC)

[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Communist Party of India (Marxist), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Left Democratic Front. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Wikipedia and copyright
[edit]Hello Sreein Sreedhar! Your additions to Pimpri-Chinchwad have been removed in whole or in part, as they appear to have added copyrighted content without evidence that the source material is in the public domain or has been released by its owner or legal agent under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. (To request such a release, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission.) While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues.
- You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
- Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify the information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
- We have strict guidelines on the usage of copyrighted images. Fair use images must meet all ten of the non-free content criteria in order to be used in articles, or they will be deleted. To be used on Wikipedia, all other images must be made available under a free and open copyright license that allows commercial and derivative reuse.
- If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into either the public domain (PD) or under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. Such a release must be done in a verifiable manner, so that the authority of the person purporting to release the copyright is evidenced. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
- Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps described at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. See also Help:Translation#License requirements.
It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. DanCherek (talk) 11:43, 30 July 2021 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Pimpri Chinchwad Science Park
[edit]Hello Sreein Sreedhar,
I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Pimpri Chinchwad Science Park for deletion, because it seems to be copied from another source, probably infringing copyright.
If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to rewrite it in your own words, you can contest this deletion, but don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.
You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!

Links to draft articles
[edit]Please do not introduce links in actual articles to draft articles, as you did to Chennai Super Kings–Mumbai Indians rivalry. Since a draft is not yet ready for the main article space, it is not in shape for ordinary readers, and links from articles should not go to a draft. Such links are contrary to the Manual of Style. These links have been removed. Thank you. - Arjayay (talk) 13:03, 31 August 2022 (UTC)

Minor edits
[edit]I do not know how it happened, but you recently marked this edit to the article on Pimpri-Chinchwad as minor. "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia—it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Your edit added two sentences:
- "It is the fifth largest city in Maharashtra and the nineteenth largest city by population in India. The city is located 135 km (84 mi) southeast from the state's capital Mumbai."
It was clearly not a minor edit. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Please see Help:Minor edit for more information. Thank you. -- Toddy1 (talk) 11:04, 26 April 2023 (UTC)
Hi Sreein Sreedhar! Please stop marking edits as minor when they are not. You did that with seven consecutive edits at Pune, so I have reverted them (there were other problems with at least one of the edits). As was explained to you several weeks ago, "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia—it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Please see Help:Minor edit for more information. Thank you.-- Toddy1 (talk) 08:17, 8 May 2023 (UTC)
Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied the language pie chart with its sources from the article on Mumbai into the page on Pune and changed the numbers. It gives us very little confidence that you really looked at the sources you cited when you behave like that. If you had looked at the sources, you would have spotted that one of the sources was a newspaper article about the population of Mumbai.
Please note that whilst you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution
. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. Please provide attribution for this duplication if it has not already been supplied by another editor, and if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, you should provide attribution for that also. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. -- Toddy1 (talk) 08:17, 8 May 2023 (UTC)
Hello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. I noticed that your recent edit to Pune did not have an edit summary. You can use the edit summary field to explain your reasoning for an edit, or to provide a description of what the edit changes. Summaries save time for other editors and reduce the chances that your edit will be misunderstood. For some edits, an adequate summary may be quite brief.
The edit summary field looks like this:
Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)
Please provide an edit summary for every edit you make. With a Wikipedia account you can give yourself a reminder to add an edit summary by setting Preferences → Editing → Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary, and then click the "Save" button. Thanks! -- Toddy1 (talk) 08:17, 8 May 2023 (UTC)
Please stop marking edits as minor when they are not. And stop making edits without doing an edit summary. You have been told about this before. This edit to the article on Pune had both these problems.
Also you need to take more care to see whether what you are doing is what you intended. To show you what you did, I have made an abbreviated version of the previous version and your version of the infobox for Pune. When you made your edit, you put in a new alt text for the changed image, but you forgot to update the caption.

[edit]Hello, I'm Nagol0929. I noticed that you recently removed content from Pinarayi Vijayan without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Chennai Super Kings–Royal Challengers Bangalore rivalry moved to draftspace
[edit]An article you recently created, Chennai Super Kings–Royal Challengers Bangalore rivalry, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more in-depth coverage about the subject itself, with citations from reliable, independent sources in order to show it meets WP:GNG. It should have at least three, to be safe. And please remember that interviews, as primary sources, do not count towards GNG.(?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page.Onel5969 TT me 14:09, 20 May 2023 (UTC)
Recent edit reversion
[edit]In this edit here, I reverted some information that appears to be a violation of our copyright policy.
S Philbrick(Talk) 13:09, 6 June 2023 (UTC)

[edit]Hello. I have noticed that you often edit without using an edit summary. Please do your best to always fill in the summary field. This helps your fellow editors use their time more productively, rather than spending it unnecessarily scrutinizing and verifying your work. Even a short summary is better than no summary, and summaries are particularly important for large, complex, or potentially controversial edits. To help yourself remember, you may wish to check the "prompt me when entering a blank edit summary" box in your preferences. Thanks! NM 20:25, 3 November 2023 (UTC)
