- A cyclonic storm brings flooding and winds up to 230 km/h (140 mph) across Western Europe, killing more than 50 people.[2]
- Heavy rains result in a landslide on Mount Elgon in eastern Uganda, destroying 85 homes and killing an estimated 100 people.[3]
- A series of suicide bombings in Baqubah, Iraq kills 33 people and injures at least 55 more.[4]
- More than sixty people are killed during a stampede at a temple in Kunda, Uttar Pradesh, India.[5]
