Ministry: International Journal for Pastors is the international monthly magazine of the Ministerial Association (website) of the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists.[1] It is aimed at pastors and ministers of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, and also those of other denominations.[1] It has a monthly circulation of roughly 18,000 to Adventist church leaders, and a bi-monthly circulation of roughly 85,000 to clergy from other denominations on a complimentary basis. As of 2005 it is edited by Nikolaus Satelmajer.[1] Its ISSN is 0026-5314.

History

Ministry was first published in 1928 and is now available in English, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, Korean, Chinese, Japanese and Indonesian languages. On April 6, 2009 a French language edition was launched.[2]

Editors

As of 2005, the editorial team consists of editor Nikolaus Satelmajer, associate editor Willie E. Hucks II, editorial assistant Sheryl Beck, and database assistant John Feezer.[3]

Seventh-day Adventist ministers

The Adventist church does not support women's ordination, although some female ministers are employed, and may be "commissioned" rather than ordained which is reserved for men.[5] (See: Seventh-day Adventist theology#Ordination of women).
