Heritage
ethnicelebs.com/taylor-swift
They have listed her heritage for quite some time now, and have links provided to back it up. I don't see why her heritage shouldn't be listed on this too, as I'm sure fans would be interested in it. Every other celebrity wiki page has had their ethnicity listed.. I don't see why Taylor should be an exception.
She's Irish, English, German, Scottish, Welsh, French, Italian and Dutch.
Might stop those "She's part Asian!" rumors about her too, if they saw it on here.
Please consider it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 109.79.49.151 (talk) 19:35, 28 November 2010 (UTC)
- We need to find an actual source. I'm not sure if ethniccelebs.com is reliable. I've also heard that she has English, German, Irish, and a few other Western European ancestry roots but I can't find a reliable source for such. Estheroliver (talk) 21:38, 28 November 2010 (UTC)

Edit request from Owarimasu, 17 December 2010
Please add "In early 2010, Swift and Cory Monteith were following each other on Twitter. [1] Afterwards, there were rumours saying that they were dating. Monteith soon denied this on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. [2][3]" in front of "As of November 2010, Swift has reportedly been dating actor Jake Gyllenhaal." This can enrich the content and provide more information about Taylor Swift's personal life. Please kindly accept my edition. Thanks.

- Request declined. The first is not a reliable source and we are not he to reprint denials of unsubstantiated rumors. Active Banana (bananaphone
Her and Jake
Someone please update her personal life section so that it includes her and Jake. The Daily Mail states that they've been dating since October. Source: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-1339565/Jake-Gyllenhaal-gives-girlfriend-Taylor-Swift-ultimate-birthday-gift--11-000-guitar.html Thanks. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.188.22.82 (talk) 17:19, 18 December 2010 (UTC)
- Technically, Taylor denied a relationship with Jake.. Therefore, does it really have to be on the page?? I read it in one of the magazines.. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Knowledgechicka (talk • contribs) 23:19, 12 January 2011 (UTC)
- The article currently does not have any reference to that relationship and probably wont. Wikipedia is not a celebrity gossip sheet and content and claims about living people need to be very reliably sourced and germaine to an encyclopedia article about the subject. Taylor swift has recently been rumored to be secretly having an affair with Taylor Hanson, middle brother of the sibling band Hanson. Taylor Hanson who is married with 4 children, was photographed at a Swift concert in June when he took his daughter to see Swift in concert. Hanson and Swift have been seen together in "private moments" before and since. Swift has admitted to having a crush on Taylor Hanson since she was 8 years old, and the admiration seems to be mutual after Hanson has been reported as having "tweeted" comments about Swift on several occasions. Speculation is that Swifts latest song "Back to December" is about Taylor Hanson. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Natihanson (talk • contribs) 03:00, 11 February 2011 (UTC)
Correction to article tense
"Swift's latest studio album, Fearless, was released in the United States on November 11, 2008." Should read "Swift's second studio album, Fearless, was released in the United States on November 11, 2008." Her most recent album is "Speak Now." — Preceding unsigned comment added by Novachecks (talk • contribs) 07:51, 20 December 2010 (UTC)
Picture Change
What happened to the old image? It was pretty, and more recent than this one. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 222.154.149.191 (talk) 06:20, 4 January 2011 (UTC)
- No, that photo was taken in 2009, the Time's gala photo was taken last year. Recent photos are preferred for the head photo. Rusted AutoParts (talk) 9:11 6 January 2011 (UTC)
Edit request from Bdaoust413, 5 January 2011
MTV.com reports that Swift and Jake Gyllenhaal broke up prior to the 2010 holiday season. http://www.mtv.com/news/articles/1655294/taylor-swift-jake-gyllenhaal-break-up.jhtml
Bdaoust413 (talk) 05:03, 5 January 2011 (UTC)
- Not done. That report is third hand gossip from unnamed sources. Content about living people requires better sourcing. Active Banana (bananaphone 14:57, 6 January 2011 (UTC)
- I have however, removed all reference as there is no indication that the dating relationship has any real encyclopedic merit. Active Banana (bananaphone 15:02, 6 January 2011 (UTC)
Updated sales figues
Taylor's career sales now exceed 19 million albums and 33 million song downloads:

- PRnewswire is not a valid source for self promotional content. It merely re-gurgitates the press releases sent to it. You need to find a source that does not stand to gain from exagerating sales figures. Active Banana (bananaphone 23:37, 7 January 2011 (UTC)
Is Taylor's own Facebook a good enough source?: http://www.facebook.com/notes/taylor-swift/billboard-nielsen-soundscan-list-taylor-swift-as-the-top-selling-and-most-played/477974787022 — Preceding unsigned comment added by Aloud212 (talk • contribs) 06:11, 10 January 2011 (UTC)
- No. Promotional claims CANNOT be sourced in any manner by/to/from the person they promote. Its an inherrent conflict of interest. Active Banana (bananaphone 03:53, 11 January 2011 (UTC)
- We still can edit to 34 million song downloads

Her Religion
I do believe that she is a Christian but I ask to someone to please add a reliable source about it.213.13.247.105 (talk) 21:13, 16 January 2011 (UTC)
Her and Jake.
Taylor's relationship with the actor was never confirmed or denied by either party therefore it should be deleted. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 4.229.42.49 (talk) 01:33, 9 February 2011 (UTC)
Song about John Mayer
I think someone should add either in "Songwriting Style" or "Personal Life" that the song "Dear John" is suspected to be about John Mayer. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Md7011 (talk • contribs) 18:23, 13 February 2011 (UTC)
- Many of her songs are about specific people, but she has revealed in interview many times that she will never confirm her subjects. Speculation is not needed in an article. Besides, if we included whom every song was referring to, the section would have several extra paragraphs of trivial speculation. Yves (talk) 18:33, 13 February 2011 (UTC)
