The Vaksince Offensive was a military operation[3] launched by the Macedonian army against Albanian insurgents belonging to the NLA, who killed two of its soldiers in an overnight ambush in the region.[3]

On the 3th May 2001 troops belonging to the Macedonian Army and Macedonian Police force began an Offensive against insurgent forces in the region of Kumanovo Karadak, in northeast of Macedonia. The operation only lasted a single day and ended with a Macedonian failure against the Albanian insurgents.[4]
