Vkusno i tochka (Template:Lang-ru, lit.'Tasty and that's it' or 'Delicious, full stop')[1][2][3] is a Russian fast food chain. It was opened on the premises of the McDonald's chain after its closure in Russia[4][5] and the complete sale of the entire business to Russian entrepreneur Alexander Govor[6][7].

History

On 8 March 2022, facing continued pressure on social media due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine, McDonald's announced the temporary suspension of operation of its restaurants in Russia, and that it would continue to pay its employees in the country.[8][9] The BBC's Russia Editor Steve Rosenberg said the closure was "hugely symbolic", as the first store's opening occurred "when iron curtains were crumbling & Russia was embracing the West".[9] Reuters also said it had "symbolic importance" as "a symbol of flourishing American capitalism as the Soviet Union fell".[10] The restaurants were taken over by the former CEO of McDonald's Russia, Oleg Paroev, and remained open as of mid-March 2022.

On 16 May 2022, the company decided to leave Russia altogether.[11] On 27 May 2022, it was reported that McDonald's was selling its stores in Russia to a local licensee, Alexander Govor. Patent filings showed "Fun and Tasty" and "The Same One" as some of the possible brand names for the firm taking over McDonald's in Russia.[12] Shortly after the announcement, the company replaced the McDonald's logo in favor of their own logo.[13] The new name of the chain was later announced as Vkusno i tochka (Russian: Вкусно и точка), translated as "Tasty and that's it".[14][1]

On 12 June 2022, the restaurant chain reopened its 15 restaurants in Moscow[2].

According to General Director of the chain, at the initial stage of the opening of restaurants, due to problems with the logistics of packaging, not all previously known dishes will be available. Unlike McDonald's menu, Vkusno now doesn't serve Big Mac, McFlurry and salads. However, it serves shrimp in both roll and burger forms.

As of June 2022, the chain serves the following items:

  • Hamburger, Cheeseburger and Double Cheeseburger
  • Grand burger (equivalent to the Quarter Pounder with Cheese / McRoyal) and Double Grand
  • Grand Deluxe (Quarter Pounder with Cheese Deluxe)
  • Fishburger (Filet-o-Fish) and Double Fishburger
  • Chickenburger and Chicken Premier (McChicken and Seriously Chicken)
  • Caesar Roll (McWrap), Caesar Roll Bacon and Fresh Roll
  • Fries and potato wedges
  • Chicken nuggets, chicken strips, mozzarella dippers and shrimps
  • Chernogolovka (equivalent to Coca-Cola) Zero, milkshake, sundae, tea, coffee and juice
  • Breakfast pancakes, omelette and cherry pie
