Response This is a dynamic IP and there are plenty of contributions on my more frequented IPs. If you wish proof of anything I purported please leave a message on this IP's talk page. I will gladly provide diffs. 141.213.210.80 03:02, 13 March 2007 (UTC)
I noticed you removed a MySpace link from this article and cited WP:LINK. LINK states: Except for a link to a page that is the subject of the article or an official page of the article subject... under the "Links to be avoided" section. I take this to mean that autobiographical websites are indeed permitted. Assuming this really is the artist's MySpace page, I see no reason why we should remove this link. Thoughts? Rklawton 19:06, 14 March 2007 (UTC)
Links normally to be avoided section 10. Purgatory Fubar 19:09, 14 March 2007 (UTC)
- Yes, but immediately beneath that section's header it specifically states "Except for..." (per the quote above), and in the case of this singer she has published her own MySpace page. The line (#10) that you are referring to applies to say, my own MySpace page (if I had one) if I tried to use it as an external link in this particular article. That should be deleted on sight. However, an autobiographical site link should not be deleted per the exception noted above the list. Rklawton 19:17, 14 March 2007 (UTC)
- See also for clarification on this point: [1] Rklawton 19:19, 14 March 2007 (UTC)
Confusing at best. It does seem to be redundant and it is a link to a fansite nothing official and nothing directly related to the article at hand. I think the discussion about my space should be reopened and possable policy change should also be discussed or implemented. Purgatory Fubar 19:47, 14 March 2007 (UTC)
I agree 100% that links to MySpace fansites fail #10 because they aren't autobiographical. I'm only concerned about the autobiographical MySpace pages. Note that we've even got a MySpace template for such links. I've started reviewing the articles where you've removed the MySpace links to see if any were autobiographical. It looks like some are. I've got other work to do at the moment. Perhaps you'd double check your last few MySpace related edits to see if any should be restored? Rklawton 19:56, 14 March 2007 (UTC)
Great, will do. Purgatory Fubar 19:58, 14 March 2007 (UTC)
Re: Julien Aklei. I noticed that, and I re-added it anyway. Why? Too many windows open, and I pushed the wrong button. Sorry 'bout that. Rklawton 19:59, 14 March 2007 (UTC)
Alisha (singer) My Space address seems to be a fan site http://www.myspace.com/alishafans Not sure what to make of it so I will leave it up. Purgatory Fubar 20:07, 14 March 2007 (UTC)
- I'd go ahead and take it down autobiographical or not, there's no real content. Rklawton 20:15, 14 March 2007 (UTC)
With My Space, there usually isn't any content worth while. Official sites should only be allowed. Im on the premise that we are trying to build a better encyclopedia that stands out from the rest. Purgatory Fubar 20:55, 14 March 2007 (UTC)
- Yes, only official sites should be allowed - and the rest removed. We agree on that. The only point I wish to make is that some people/groups really do have official MySpace sites that they put up themselves. Those (and only those) should be allowed to stay. Assuming there's content, of course. For example if Paris Hilton had a MySpace page that she put up to entertain fans or whatever, then her MySpace page could be listed as an External link to her article (but no other). Yes? On the other hand, if there is some "official" Paris Hilton MySpace page put up by a bunch of her bestest fans, then that link should get deleted from her article per EL. Does that sound about right to you? Rklawton 01:37, 15 March 2007 (UTC)
Yes, that sounds good. So I just should evaluate each my space link to check for content. Works for me. Purgatory Fubar Converse or Snafu 17:32, 16 March 2007 (UTC)
Your recent addition to Wikipedia:Requests_for_comment/User_names
Howdy! You posted SysOp of the Seattle-based Shooting Star BBS, which first went online in 1985. to Wikipedia:Requests_for_comment/User_names, but the reason why it would be a violation of WP:U remains unclear. Could you come on by and help us out? - CHAIRBOY (☎) 00:44, 15 March 2007 (UTC)
- The name "Disk Crasher" could be a violation of Usernames that give the impression that you intend to cause trouble, such as "Vandal", "Hacker", "H4X0E", "Spammer", "Troll", or "on Wheels". This includes names that may refer to malware, such as "Virus" or "Trojan horse". Purgatory Fubar Converse or Snafu 17:27, 16 March 2007 (UTC)
- Sorry, I just don't see it. The examples from WP:U you quote above are things that a person can do on Wikipedia, but crashing disks is beyond any reasonably realistic threat. - CHAIRBOY (☎) 17:36, 16 March 2007 (UTC)
OK, just thought the name sounded to much as a hacker or virus threat. Purgatory Fubar Converse or Snafu 17:39, 16 March 2007 (UTC)

I like it alot. I'm still learning policy and and how to use tools like Popups ( can't figure that out ) but all in all Wikipedia is great. I may even write a few articles for Wikipedia. As my wife would say Blessings be. Purgatory Fubar Converse or Snafu 20:33, 16 March 2007 (UTC)
- would you like me to give you some tools to use for fighting vandalism? Tools can make it go a lot faster. Peace:) --James, La gloria è a dio 20:38, 16 March 2007 (UTC)
Oh yes thank you. I would appreciate that very much. Purgatory Fubar Converse or Snafu 20:40, 16 March 2007 (UTC)
- I am sorry I took so long to get back to you :( Well anyways, this is a pretty good tool. It allows you to revert vandalism just by clicking a button, and lets you warn vandals by clicking a button:) It makes vandal fighting a lot faster:) Also you can go on the recent changes IRC channel #vandalism-en-wp:) If you do this you will nead a IRC client. IRC clients are free. A good client is chatzilla. I use both of these tools. They have helped me to become a lot faster in my vandal fighting and I think they can help you:) Peace:) --James, La gloria è a dio 22:05, 16 March 2007 (UTC)
Thank you, I will try that one. You have been great! Purgatory Fubar Converse or Snafu 22:09, 16 March 2007 (UTC)

Give a good reason
explain why you are reverting my edits —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 65.25.24.245 (talk) 03:23, 18 March 2007 (UTC).
Please read Introduction page and WP:NPOV, if you would just follow these simple rules your editing experience would be much more pleasurable as well as the editing community around you. But deleting content without discussing it first on the articles talk page and adding unsourced personal point of view will NOT be tolerated. Thank you. Purgatory Fubar Converse or Snafu 21:03, 18 March 2007 (UTC)
ok... so why are you reverting my edits? Look, we both know what you are doing, just stop.
You are adding POV and you have been reported. Purgatory Fubar Converse or Snafu 21:35, 19 March 2007 (UTC)
I have never added anything POV, YOU NEED TO BE SPECIFIC ABOUT WHY YOU ARE REVERTING MY EDITS. If you cannot give a valid reason, leave it alone. Im afraid you dont have a leg to stand on here, but if some of my contribs are POV you should be able to point them out.
When adding "and presents the reports as fact." with out citation is clearly POV. So I added a Fact tag to that POV Push. After 30 days with out citation that edit will be removed. Purgatory Fubar Converse or Snafu 22:27, 19 March 2007 (UTC)
You could. I'm off to class in a few minutes -- in your shoes, I might consider instead pursuing the matter via dispute resolution, the 3rr noticeboard, or incidents noticeboard. WP:AIV deals with a pretty narrow set of circumstances (chiefly defined by WP:VAND, and while it is the fastest of all the various noticeboards, once you hit a grey area it's usually best to move somewhere that allows for a bit more discussion. That's my take, anyway. :) – Luna Santin (talk) 21:58, 19 March 2007 (UTC) Ok thank you. I will delist the AIV the article is being cleaned up. Purgatory Fubar Converse or Snafu 22:01, 19 March 2007 (UTC)
- I've caught wind of the same problem, I can probably help if you need it. -- SmthManly / ManlyTalk / ManlyContribs 22:46, 19 March 2007 (UTC)
- I noticed it a minute ago, I hope it works, but if you get any more hostile activity from the anon I can still help. Thanks. -- SmthManly / ManlyTalk / ManlyContribs 22:50, 19 March 2007 (UTC)
- I've caught wind of the same problem, I can probably help if you need it. -- SmthManly / ManlyTalk / ManlyContribs 22:46, 19 March 2007 (UTC)
I had this at AIV and that was a no-go. Should this go to WP:DR and or Page protection? Purgatory Fubar Converse or Snafu 22:53, 19 March 2007 (UTC)
- Yeah, he's not a vandal, it's probably still too early for DR, but you can try page protection for now until the dispute is resolved, if he even continues to push it. It seems he's settled down for now, so let it be unless more trouble comes through. If he begins to vandalize your page, as many angry ones tend to do, then AIV would work, but if he just keeps pushing it, DR works out in the end. -- SmthManly / ManlyTalk / ManlyContribs 22:57, 19 March 2007 (UTC)
The IP has vandalized the page before see this diff and every day this annon comes back to start it all over again. This is day three. Purgatory Fubar Converse or Snafu 23:03, 19 March 2007 (UTC)
- Then in this case, I say you can definately begin following the DR steps now, but AIV still won't work at this point, as he's not vandalizing or attacking at the moment..., or if not, I'd have blocked him myself. You could try talking it out with him, that's worked for me several times, or if you're not up to the task, try getting the opinions of others, if he still persists and ignores you, you could try mediation and finally the arbcomm as a last resort, but if he gets hostile at any time, you could easily get him blocked at that point, but if he just continues to ignore you and push his comments forward, then you should just follow DR, most likely he'll give up and stop of become hostile before that goes too far anyway. Even if he's vandalized before, it is unrelated to this, so unless he's a serious vandal then you won't get much support, but I'll look into it, cause I didn't notice those edits from him before. -- SmthManly / ManlyTalk / ManlyContribs 23:10, 19 March 2007 (UTC)
That sounds good. I will give DR a try. Thank you. Purgatory Fubar Converse or Snafu 23:15, 19 March 2007 (UTC)
- I looked through it, it seems he's only had one stint at vandalism, the rest is just a lot of editing. DR is definately the best recourse, but if he does get hostile, head to AIV, or come to me. As I said, I'll be monitoring it, so you won't be alone. Good Luck. -- SmthManly / ManlyTalk / ManlyContribs

Speedy deletion
Hey, I noticed you tagged User:Postco2 for speedy deletion. Unfortunately, reasons in WP:NOT are not valid criteria for speedy deletion. If the article/page is blatantly a violation you can use proposed deletion. Otherwise, use the more formal deletion debates. Thanks. mikm 21:14, 21 March 2007 (UTC)
- I thought it might be quiker just to sp delete as that page takes on alot of vandalism. Purgatory Fubar Converse or Snafu 21:29, 21 March 2007 (UTC)
- Please familiarize yourself with the speedy deletion process. A page must satisfy at least one of the criteria for speedy deletion or to have a "speedy delete" vote. When tagging an article, it's generally more useful to use one of the existing templates (e.g., {{db-attack}}). When voting, say why it qualifies for speedy deletion, preferably specifying which rule (e.g., Speedy delete - CSD G3) mikm 21:55, 21 March 2007 (UTC)
When I added "speedy" to my vote, It was to indicate my personal urgency touch to the delete vote. Not connected to the sp delete process. Sorry for the confusion. Purgatory Fubar Converse or Snafu 22:16, 21 March 2007 (UTC)
- OK, I understand. In those situations, "strong delete" is generally a better choice. mikm 22:45, 21 March 2007 (UTC)
That was what I had at first, then changed it. Purgatory Fubar Converse or Snafu 22:48, 21 March 2007 (UTC)
Sig
I would advise changing your signature. Having unnecessarily large font is generally frowned upon mikm 16:07, 22 March 2007 (UTC)
OK, keeping in mind that there are users who have a hard time seeing small letters, which do you prefer? I prefer the large as it is not to bulky but readable.
- Note On Med you can't fully make out converse let alone small.

Font size seems to be the same heh? Purgatory Fubar Converse or Snafu 16:29, 22 March 2007 (UTC)
Look, all I'm suggesting is that you remove "font-size:Large" (and maybe "font-family: Monotype Corsiva"). Sigs shouldn't be distracting. mikm 17:03, 22 March 2007 (UTC)
Purgatory Fubar Converse or Snafu
Not sure how it is distracting. I will keep it in mind. But the markup and font does not violate WP:SIG. Purgatory Fubar Converse or Snafu 17:12, 22 March 2007 (UTC)
- Read it again. "Markup such as tags...are to be avoided". Keep in mind that I don't have Monotype Corsiva on my system, so it may look completely different on your computer (in which case, you probably should be using a "standard" font anyways) mikm 17:17, 22 March 2007 (UTC)
I am going to leave my sig for now. You may do a WP:RFC on my sig if you wish. Have a good day. Purgatory Fubar Converse or Snafu 17:23, 22 March 2007 (UTC)
- I won't RFC. I'll wait and see if anybody else has an issue with it. mikm 17:37, 22 March 2007 (UTC)
Fair enough, a consensus is the best way to go. Purgatory Fubar Converse or Snafu 17:42, 22 March 2007 (UTC)

Sorry about earlier. I didn't mean to have an editing war. It's just that this guy keep putting up pointless information, and then when I undo it; he reverts it back. And right now, he/she's on their third IP address. Two previous one's were blocked, but they keep doing this. They've been doing it for at least two hours. What can we do about it? Ryu Ematsu
