I've detailed the Lineage of the Chiefs of the Clan Fraser here, User:Canaen/ClanFraserLineage, and I'm wondering at how useful this could be. File:Icons-flag-scotland.png Canæn File:Icons-flag-scotland.png 09:34, 14 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

undifferenced arms

[edit]

it would appear that the title chief of the name in arms, is synonymous with the right to the undifferenced arms. Lady Saltoun claim to the title being based on her inheriting her father's arms. which raises the question, how long has Philroth/Saltoun line had this title and arms? 98.206.155.53 (talk) 18:16, 4 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

according to this http://heraldry-online.org.uk/fraser/fraser-arms.htm the undifferenced arms were born by the Muchall line, who held the title Lord Fraser. http://www.baronage.co.uk/bphtm-03/fraser04.html They went extinct and their estates were inherited by the Inverallochy branch, which is a cadet of the Lovat branch. There is no record I can find of anyone using or claiming the arms between the death of the last Lord Fraser and the current Lady Saltoun. 98.206.155.53 (talk) 20:29, 4 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
