Kevin Khoa Nguyen (a.k.a. Kevin Khoa)

Kevin Khoa Nguyen, also known as Kevin Khoa, is a renowned Vietnamese-American recording artist and attorney in California.[1][2]

Under the stage name “Kevin Khoa,” he has collaborated with multiple well-known Vietnamese music labels such as Diem Xua, Tinh Music, Blue Ocean, Minh Chanh, Mua Rung and Do Thanh Productions.[3]

Kevin has performed in live concerts and music videos in nearly every U.S. state, Canada, and several countries in Europe (including England, France, Norway, Sweden, and Denmark) and Asia (including China, Japan, South Korea, and Thailand).[4][5]

Kevin is also active in charity and community events and fundraisers for the poor and orphans. He sings and is fluent in both Vietnamese and English.[6]

Besides being an entertainer, Kevin is an attorney.[7][8] He earned his Juris Doctorate from Western State College of Law and his Bachelor of Science in Gerontology from the University of Southern California.[9] Kevin immigrated to the United States from Vietnam in 1989 and resides in Los Angeles.[10]

SINGER

Kevin Khoa was first introduced to Diem Xua music label by his aunt, singer Ha Van, to record vocals for her CD “Tinh Yeu Co Khi.” While recording, the owner of Diem Xua, Ms. Thai Xuan liked Kevin’s voice and invited him to sing exclusively for her label in 2000.[11]

After Diem Xua, Kevin Khoa was introduced to Tinh Music by La Suong Suong and Phi Nhung. He filmed his debut music video “Con Lai Nho Thuong” in Tinh Music’s music video series Que Huong, Tinh Yeu & Tuoi Tre 12 with Phi Nhung in 2004,[12] and this earned him an exclusive spot with the new music label.[13]

Kevin continued appearing in Tinh Music’s Que Huong, Tinh Yeu & Tuoi Tre music videos 12, 13, 14 (shot in Shanghai and Wuxi, China), 15 (shot in Seoul, Korea), 16 and 17 (shot in Bangkok and Phuket, Thailand). He became very popular with hits like Modern Talking Medley[14] and Winter Sonata (Ban Tinh Ca Mua Dong)[15] with Tinh Music, along with other singers made famous by the record label such as Minh Tuyet, Don Ho, Thanh Ha, Bang Kieu, Ha Vy, Diem Lien, Johnny Dung, and Huy Vu.[16]

Kevin has performed in almost all the states in the U.S., as well as France, Norway, Great Britain, Denmark, Sweden, Australia, China, Thailand, Japan, and Korea.[17] He is also a concert producer, and Chairman and Co-founder of Sky World Entertainment, Inc.[18]

ATTORNEY, LAW PROFESSOR

Kevin Khoa Nguyen received his Juris Doctor (JD) with Distinction from Western State College of Law, where he served as Technical Editor of Western State Law Review[19] and Editor-In-Chief of the school's newspaper The Precedent, and became a California attorney[20] and law professor.[21]

Kevin is Counsel, and Director of Human Resources at STAR Education, a non-profit organization based in Culver City, California.[22] He also serves as Director of the Legal Studies Program and Professor of Law at Abraham Lincoln University[23] as well as on the Adjunct Faculty at Western State College of Law.[24] Additionally, Kevin collaborates with several law firms making special appearances and drafting motions, both in criminal and civil cases.[25]

Kevin received his Bachelor of Science in Gerontology from University of Southern California (USC), then became a teacher with the Los Angeles Unified School District, and with California State University, Dominguez Hills prior to attending law school.[26]

Kevin was Lead Plaintiff in Kevin Khoa Nguyen v. Barnes & Noble, Inc., a U.S. Ninth Circuit case challenging binding arbitration in online consumer contracts. The court ruled that Barnes & Noble's Terms of Use agreement, presented only via hyperlinks, was unenforceable because it failed to provide reasonable notice of its terms.[27] The case set an important precedent for the future design and presentation of websites and online contracts for consumers and businesses.[28]

PERSONAL LIFE

Kevin immigrated to the United States in 1989 and currently resides in Los Angeles, California.[29]
