Edge Lane
Edge Lane is a core entry route leading from the M62 motorway into Liverpool City Centre, United Kingdom.
Due to the high volume of traffic using this road, it is often congested, particulary during peak periods, (7.30am - 9.30am & 4.00pm - 6.30pm Mon-Fri).
Edge Lane begins near Broadgreen, The Rocket, and passes through some of Liverpool's most deprived areas, Old Swan, Wavertree, Edge Hill and Kensington.
Currently, intensive remodelling of the road is underway. See http://www.edgelane.com/ for details.
Following the decision by the Deputy Prime Minister John Prescott to give the green light to the mixed use scheme in Edge Lane West, it is the intention to transform this route into a stunning approach into the City.
There is a large retail park near Old Swan. Edge Lane Retail Park is popular for socialising, as it houses the most accessible cinema outside of the City Centre. This is also the only place in Liverpool you can go ten pin bowling.
