Reed Mathis is a bassist/guitarist and a founding member of the Jazz Fusion group Jacob Fred Jazz Odyssey. The Jacob Fred Jazz Odyssey includes pianist Brian Haas and drummer Joshua Raymer. Recently, he has also played with the Steve Kimock Band (including Steve Kimock, Rodney Holmes and Robert Walter). In 2006, he also filled in briefly for Chris Stillwell when Stillwell's wife was pregnant. As of early 2007 he is touring with Bobby Previte on The Coalition of the Willing Tour and in March 2007 has dates set in NYC with the Marco Benevento Trio which will feature also Matt Chamberlain (drums) and Marco Benevento (keyboards). His styles are self-described to include ambient, jazz and rock and in interviews has elaborated on the subtleties of improvisation.[1][2] Mathis has joined the band Tea Leaf Green following the departure of their bassist Ben Chambers.[3]
