Dominic Mancini was an Italian who visited England during 1482-1483 to spy on behalf of Angelo Cato, one of the counsellors of King Louis XI of France. His report was submitted in December 1483, but only came to the attention of historians in 1936. Mancini almost certainly never met King Richard III, but does not hesitate to repeat the gossip that was current about the activities of the royal family.
