Monte Carlo is one of the oldest tracks on the Formula One-circuit. It is a street race and the many elevation shifts, tight corners and narrow course make it perhaps the most demanding and probably the most dangerous track still in use in F1.

Over the years, many concerns over the safety of this course have been made, but so far, tradition has held sway.
