Usman W. Chohan (Urdu: , born 9 November 1986 in Manhattan, New York) is a macroeconomics,[1][2][3][4][5] [6] ethnomusicology,[7][8][9] and polyglotism.[10] He is the president of the International Association of Hyperpolyglots, and an economist who has been affiliated with the World Bank[11][12] and the World Economic Forum.[13][14] In 2016, he was included among "Australia’s Top Thinkers" for his work in economics.[15][16][17] He is also Chief Financial Officer of Taqanu,[18][19][20] a financial intermediary that is bringing financial services to victims of the European migrant crisis.[21] He is an American-born Canadian of Pakistani descent.
Economics
As an economist, Usman W. Chohan has brought advances to national policies in both Australia[22][23] and Canada.[24][25] He is a research authority in a specialized subfield of Legislature known as Parliamentary Fiscal Scrutiny.[26][27][28] For his work on intergenerationality,[29][30][31] he has been ranked among “Australia’s 50 Top Thinkers.” [32][33] Usman W. Chohan has brought advances to the Public value[34][26] and Presidentialisation Theory.[35] Usman has been affiliated with the World Bank[36][37][38] and the World Economic Forum.[39] He has also undertaken the study of legislative Investment in post-invasion Iraq.[40][41][42] His work has been cited in national debates in Canada on structural reforms of legislative institutions.[43] Usman W. Chohan has also conducted financial market studies to identify Market anomaly brought about by securitisation,[44][45] as well as Disruptive innovation.[46][47][48][49][50] He is the current Chief Financial Officer of Taqanu, a financial intermediary bringing financial inclusion and banking services to refugees victims of the European migrant crisis.[51][52]
Hyperpolyglotism
Chohan is the president of the International Association of Hyperpolyglots,[53] the largest independent organisation for Polyglotism (fluent speakers of more than six languages) and has demonstrable fluency in ten languages.[54] Usman Chohan also produced the first translation of the Art of War into the Urdu language.[55] He is the current Editor-in-Chief of the Journal The Polyglotica Review.[56] He is a regular commentator on economic issues in Australia in various languages, notably through Australia's multilingual SBS Radio,[57][58][59][60][61] and also appeared on the BBC to discuss international political economy.[62][63][64]
Ethnomusicology
Chohan is an ethnomusicologist who in 2015 was nominated as Secretary-General of Sitarico, a collective body of Sitar ethnomusicologists and practitioners.[65][66] His research on the Economics of the Arts has also advocated greater government spending in Australia on the creative industries, as a vehicle for multifaceted economic growth.[67][68]
