Jayakumar was having a good time with his family and friends. Their joys has no bounds when Indu informed that she is pregnant.
It was at that time Jayakumar receives a letter from his native inviting him to come to pay homage to his father's brother, who passed away a year ago. Jayakumar starts his journey in train and then reaches the native railway station midnight. Since there were no official taxi in the station and he had to travel another 40 Km, he walks and reaches a junction where he finds a shared taxi, whose driver was calling out for passengers to Pollachi. Already there were two commutators inside. After waiting for some more time, two more people (Tomy and Alex) come running with a luggage box and join them. On their way, they are stopped by police. Alex and Tomy take their luggage box and escapes. Police follows them. Tomy cleverly surrenders to police, allowing Alex to escape with the box. However in a hurry, the luggage boxes had got interchanged, and Alex had actually escaped with Jayakumar' box. On enquiry Jayakumar tells that it is his dress and identity card in the box. But when police opens it, they find packets of brown sugar. It was then that Jayakumar realises that the boxes got interchanged. Adding to Jayakumar's woes, Tomy confesses that he and Jayakumar are partners in transporting drugs. So both of them were arrested. Despite cruel and harsh treatment by the police and narcotic team headed by Balu and Vishnu, Jayakumar doesnt accept the crime. Jayakumar also faces harsh treatment from the hands of his co-prisoner Vasu. Damu, a thief who does small robbery, only to be in jail, as he is unfit to do any other job, is the only source for peace of mind in jail. With his help, Jayakumar beats Tomy and comes to know about Balu's involvement in the case. When Balu comes to know that the secret has been revealed, he plans to kill Jayakumar and Tomy. For the sake of questioning by narcotic department, Jayakumar and Tomy are taken out from the jail. As instructed, Alex follows the police jeep in a lorry and hits police jeep. Tomy and a few policemen were killed in the spot. However Jayakumar escapes miraculously.
Meanwhile Indu seeks help from her father to fight out Jayakumar's case. However her father insists on a divorce. Since she was not willing for it, she was on the desperate look up for a lawyer. Finally she goes to Advocate Hariprasad, who had served 15 years as police officer, and then stepped down to become a lawyer. Hariprasad succeeds in getting Jayakumar out on bail, but then Vishnu and Balu visits Jayakumar that night and asks them to surrender accepting the crime. Otherwise they will fill the chargesheet against him, which will result in serious punishment. Jayakumar is confused with it and he discuss the same with Hariprasad. Its then Hariprasad reveals how cruel the drug mafia was to his family. Hariprasad's younger brother was a victim of drugs, and he had killed his parents and sister and then killed himself. His fight against drug mafia started since then, and now Hariprasad seeks support of Jayakumar for the same. Jayakumar aggrees to it. On the way they happen to see Alex entering customs officer Samuel's residence. Jayakumar visits Samuel's house pretending that it is for some other purpose. Since Samuel asks him to take leave, Jayakumar leaves his house. Jayakumar and Hariprasad then kidnaps Alex and questions him. Meanwhile Balu suspects Samuel as Alex was missing after visiting his house. Quite dejected, Samuel plans to provide all documents related to drug mafia to Jayakumar. Jayakumar collects the documents adventurously from Samuel, however Samuel gets shot and is killed. Jayakumar rushes to handle the documents to Hariprasad, however is shocked to see that Hariprasad is killed in a bomb blast. He follows the Vishnu and kills him. The main head of the Drug mafia now reaches Jayakumars house and asks Indu for the documents that was handled over by Samuel. Indu refuses to handle the same and she is beaten up badly.
