Note: All columns in this table are sortable, allowing you to rearrange the table so the articles most interesting to you are shown at the top. All images have mouse-over popups with more information. For more information about the columns and categories, please consult the documentation and please get in touch on SuggestBot's talk page with any questions you might have.
SuggestBot picks articles in a number of ways based on other articles you've edited, including straight text similarity, following wikilinks, and matching your editing patterns against those of other Wikipedians. It tries to recommend only articles that other Wikipedians have marked as needing work. We appreciate that you have signed up to receive suggestions regularly; your contributions make Wikipedia better — thanks for helping!

Recent changes
- Admins will not be able to unblock themselves if they are blocked by someone other than themselves. This is because it can cause damage if someone else takes over an admin account and other admins can't block them. If this is a problem for your community you can report it on Phabricator. You can also ask questions on Meta. There is a discussion on Phabricator about how to solve this if two admins fight with each other on a small wiki. [1]
- Small SVG images are now bigger when you see them in MediaViewer. [2]
- You can go to a section from the edit summary by clicking on the section name. Before this you had to click on the arrow. [3]
- When you jumped to a footnote that was referenced several times in an article it could be difficult to see where you were in the text. Now there are jump marks and highlights to help you find your way back. [4][5]
Changes later this week
- There is no new MediaWiki version this week.
Meetings
- You can join the technical advice meeting on IRC. During the meeting, volunteer developers can ask for advice. The meeting will be on 5 December at 16:00 (UTC) and at 23:00 (UTC). See how to join.

Recent changes
- You can now use TemplateWizard to edit templates. This works only with the 2010 wikitext editor and not in the visual editor or the 2017 wikitext editor. If you click on you can enter the information in a pop-up. You can turn on TemplateWizard in your beta feature preferences. [6]
Changes later this week
- You can choose to see edit conflicts in a two-column view. This is a beta feature. You can find it in your preferences. The interface for the two-column edit conflict will change. You can read more.
- When you edit with the visual editor you can use the "Automatic" citation tab. This helps you generate citations. You will now be able to write plain text citations or the title of a journal article or a book in this tab. This will search the Crossref and WorldCat databases and add the top result. [7]
- The new version of MediaWiki will be on test wikis and MediaWiki.org from 6 November. It will be on non-Wikipedia wikis and some Wikipedias from 7 November. It will be on all wikis from 8 November (calendar).
Meetings
- You can join the technical advice meeting on IRC. During the meeting, volunteer developers can ask for advice. The meeting will be on 7 November at 16:00 (UTC). See how to join.

Note
This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.
You have recently shown interest in the intersection of race/ethnicity and human abilities and behaviour. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect: any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or any page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.
For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.
Template:Z33 wumbolo ^^^ 15:39, 6 December 2018 (UTC)
@Wumbolo: Sorry, I don't think I have ever edited on that topic, can you explain what prompted this DS notice for a topic I don't edit about? The very reason we have never been able to agree on bots delivering these warnings is so we would not receive them when doing routine vandalism and BLP related patrols. Seraphim System (talk) 15:47, 6 December 2018 (UTC)
- It's about Stefan Molyneux and your reverts [8] [9]. Some sources say that he "intensifies scientific racism" and is therefore a white supremacist, and you removed that from the article. wumbolo ^^^ 15:50, 6 December 2018 (UTC)
- I reverted BLP content that I felt was not sufficiently supported by the sources and opened a talk page discussion to stop an ongoing edit war. I've had no involvement in this article outside routine patrolling. The article was even protected for BLP violations after the editor was blocked for edit warring for 24 hours. In situations like this, it is usually not customary to leave DS notices editors whose only involvement is patrolling. It's not a big deal, as I'm generally supportive of the notice-by-bot proposal, but you should be aware that some patrolling editors may have stronger feelings about it. Seraphim System (talk) 16:38, 6 December 2018 (UTC)
Disruptive IP user
Hi Seraphim System, could you look at this and deal with it? This aggressive and disruptive IP user is edit warring and just removing sourced content there. His insistent POV-pushing keeps adding an etymology that isn't really relevant here, since the word does not directly come from Persian. Kind regards, Akocsg (talk) 17:48, 4 December 2018 (UTC)
- Not sure how I can help, if a user is being disruptive it should be reported at ANI. Seraphim System (talk) 17:55, 4 December 2018 (UTC)
Redirection
Hi, it appears that you tried to create a redirect at Dersim ethnocide, but didn't do it correctly. I've fixed it now. For future reference, the correct redirect syntax is:
#REDIRECT [[target page name]]
You can check redirects with the Preview button before saving them. If you have created a working redirect, the preview will show the name of the target page alongside a bent arrow. — Smjg (talk) 23:14, 2 December 2018 (UTC)
- Wow, sorry about that, thank you for fixing it. Seraphim System (talk) 23:19, 2 December 2018 (UTC)

WPCleaner 2.0
Hello Seraphim System.
I would like to inform you that a new version of WPCleaner is available replacing the old version (v1.43) dating back to almost a year. Unfortunately, going from version 1.43 to 2.0 automatically isn't possible and will require a new installation. It's necessary to install version 2.0 to take advantage of updates and bug fixes. Version 1.43 will have to be uninstalled manually, as there are no more updates for it.
The installation procedure is described at Wikipedia:WPCleaner/Installation.
Note: for usage in Bot mode, I strongly advise to check the modifications to be sure that the tasks run correctly

NPR Newsletter No.15 16 November 2018
Chart of the New Pages Patrol backlog for the past 6 months. |
Hello Seraphim System,
- Community Wishlist Survey – NPP needs you – Vote NOW
- Community Wishlist Voting takes place 16 to 30 November for the Page Curation and New Pages Feed improvements, and other software requests. The NPP community is hoping for a good turnout in support of the requests to Santa for the tools we need. This is very important as we have been asking the Foundation for these upgrades for 4 years.
- If this proposal does not make it into the top ten, it is likely that the tools will be given no support at all for the foreseeable future. So please put in a vote today.
- We are counting on significant support not only from our own ranks, but from everyone who is concerned with maintaining a Wikipedia that is free of vandalism, promotion, flagrant financial exploitation and other pollution.
- With all 650 reviewers voting for these urgently needed improvements, our requests would be unlikely to fail. See also The Signpost Special report: 'NPP: This could be heaven or this could be hell for new users – and for the reviewers', and if you are not sure what the wish list is all about, take a sneak peek at an article in this month's upcoming issue of The Signpost which unfortunately due to staff holidays and an impending US holiday will probably not be published until after voting has closed.

History of Ottoman Palestine
I found this and this. Could you make a summary of the Ottoman period to add in the Israel article? Thanks--יניב הורון (Yaniv) (talk) 19:30, 19 November 2018 (UTC)
- I am working on this now. Seraphim System (talk) 19:32, 19 November 2018 (UTC)
- Did you start writing the text? Do you need some help? Regardless of the final result, I think it should include the administrative divisions and changes during the Ottoman period, the 1660 Druze revolt, Zahir al-Umar's revolt and his brief independent emirate, al-Jazzar's encounter with Napoleonic troops, Egyptian Muhammad Ali's war against the Ottomans and the 1838 Druze revolt, to name a few. Maybe I'm forgetting other events. Jewish settlements in the period are already mentioned, so there's no need to expand further on this. What do you think? Judging by other topics in the Israel article, it shouldn't occupy more than a paragraph. I'll wait for you to make the edits before I make the text myself. Even though this specific topic is not related to ARBPIA, I prefer to stay away from the article. But if you don't do it, I'll have to jump in. Have a good day.--יניב הורון (Yaniv) (talk) 17:15, 20 November 2018 (UTC)
- I may have stuff to add it to it afterwards. I would rather write the standalone articles first and then summarize them in the main article. Seraphim System (talk) 17:33, 20 November 2018 (UTC)
- Hi. Sorry to bother you, how is the text on Ottoman Palestine going? If you don't know how to properly summarize everything, I recommend you to paraphrase this content from Encyclopedia Britannica. Could you do that? Thanks--יניב הורון (Yaniv) (talk) 22:22, 24 November 2018 (UTC)
