Welcome to Wikipedia. The project's content policies require that all articles be written from a neutral point of view, and not introduce bias or give undue weight to viewpoints. Please bear this in mind when making edits such as your recent edit to Sarah Palin. You may also wish to read the introduction to editing. Thank you. ThaddeusB (talk) 23:07, 3 September 2008 (UTC)
Minor edits
Hello Pulsifer, I noticed that many of your edits have been marked as minor although they do not meet the criteria. Please visit your “my preferences” settings “Editing” tab and disable the “Mark all edits as minor by default” setting. Thank you. —Travistalk 23:13, 3 September 2008 (UTC)
Alaskan Independence Party
The alleged links of Palin to the party have been debunked, and removed from the article by consensus. This has been discussed heavily on the article talk page. Stop repeatedly re-inserting and discuss your case, or you could end up blocked. Kelly hi! 23:17, 3 September 2008 (UTC)
- Please do not reinsert this material again. You are engaging in an edit war and violating wikipedias policies. You will receive a short term block next time you do this. Thanks! Chrislk02 Chris Kreider 14:32, 4 September 2008 (UTC)
Chris, there is no violation of Wikipedia policies. All of the material is factual and sourced, non of it is defamatory. There was a consensus that some of it should be included. The material I inserted was an attempt to include this material with a neutral point of view.
- Your insertion cited youtube, a muckrackerwebsite and blogs. These are FAR from reliable. Please read Wikipedias statements on reliable sources. As per kellys comments above, it has been debunked and you have been warned regarding this. Thanks Chrislk02 Chris Kreider 14:37, 4 September 2008 (UTC)
Chris, you are mistaken. The youtube video is the actual video of Palin herself; you cannot state that is unreliable source. The TPM and ABC News sites were quoting actual information received from the Alaska Division of Elections stating that Palin was not a member of AIP. if you have an issue with the content, please take it to the discussion list, as required by wiki rules. I will not engage you in a private discussion of the content.
- I do not care if it is a video of her, youtube is not a reliable source. Please read wikipedias statements on reliable sources. I am not the only editor who disagrees with your addition and therefore, it is not a problem of you and I disagreeing, however a problem with you and memebers of this communicty disagreeing. You are welcome to take this up on any talk page you want to. I could realy care less abotu Sarah Palin, as I am generally apathetic when it comes to politics. I am involved as a neutral part (of which you are obviously not). Chrislk02 Chris Kreider 15:54, 4 September 2008 (UTC)
I have deleted the material you re-created in your userpage. If it is not encyclopedic enough to be in the article, circumventing that by making it your userpage is not appropriate as well. This is a VERY VERY hot button issue that should not re-created in your userspace. Chrislk02 Chris Kreider 15:52, 5 September 2008 (UTC)
- I have also requested that my actions be reviewed here] and the adminsitrators noticeboard for incidents to get community input on this action. Should the community deem my action innapropriate I will gladly undelete it. Chrislk02 Chris Kreider 15:58, 5 September 2008 (UTC)
- Chris, I am in the process of creating a new page, which may or may not be accepted for inclusion. This material will be factual, fully sourced, written from a neutral point of view, and relevant to current events. What you deleted was a draft of the page, which was created under my own user account, as suggested by the Wiki user guide. Please do not delete this again, or edit the material until I compete my draft. You are welcome however to comment on the content. The material you are referring to was deemed no sufficiently relevant for inclusion in a bio page, but that does not mean it would not be sufficiently relevant to another page. Thank you.
You are not welcome to write your own version of the article. Please feel free to contribute to the current version of the article. What you are trying to write is a POV fork that will most likley not be neutral (if it is going to be anything like the contributions you have added to the orignial Sarah Palin article. The afformentioned link to a POV fork states, "Both content forks and POV forks are undesirable on Wikipedia, as they avoid consensus building and therefore violate one of our most important policies." You are a far from neutral editor and your editing patterns indicate you have a strong POV you are attempting to push. Creating a FORK to push this is not appropriate. You are welcome to engage in discoure on the orignial articles talk page but please do not recreate the article in your userspace again. Thanks! Chrislk02 Chris Kreider 16:18, 5 September 2008 (UTC)
- Chris, this is not my own version of the article. As I stated, it is a different article.
- Also, if you re-create the article again in your userspace (or anywhere for that matter on this project), you will be blocked and the page protected. Your forking of the article is an attempt to circumvent page protection that has prevented you from inserting your POV. Chrislk02 Chris Kreider 16:22, 5 September 2008 (UTC)
- Chris, this is not my own version of the article. As I stated, it is a different article.
3 reverts
It appears that you may be engaged in an edit War at Sarah Palin. Please read WP:3RR as you may be blocked if you continue to revert. Let me know if you need help or have any questions. --Leivick (talk) 23:36, 3 September 2008 (UTC)
Response: Yes, I do have a question, but you have not signed this comment so I do not know who you are. I did however add a section on this to the Sarah Palin talk page.
- What's your question? --Leivick (talk) 23:36, 3 September 2008 (UTC)
Palin
As you can see from the number of reverts, the issue of the AIP with regard to Sarah Palin is controversial and needs consensus. If you are interested in adding constructively to the article, I would suggest that you express your opinions on the article's talk page. Joshdboz (talk) 14:33, 4 September 2008 (UTC)
- Also, I will point out that you have violated the three-revert rule by continuing to add material against consensus. Please stop or you will end up being blocked. Thank you. —Travistalk 14:42, 4 September 2008 (UTC)
- The case about you on the 3RR noticeboard has been closed as No Violation. Still, I suggest that you obtain the support of other editors on the article's Talk page before trying to insert the AIP material yet again, after the protection is lifted. EdJohnston (talk) 16:19, 4 September 2008 (UTC)
Your recent edits
Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. If you can't type the tilde character, you should click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! --SineBot (talk) 19:07, 5 September 2008 (UTC)
