Wikipedia:Requested moves/Technical requests
Appearance
If you are unable to complete a move for technical reasons, you can request technical help below. This is the correct method if you tried to move a page, but you got an error message saying something like "You do not have permission to move this page, for the following reasons:..." or "The/This page could not be moved, for the following reason:..."
If you are here because you want an admin to approve of your new article or your proposed page move, you are in the wrong place.

the - If you object to a proposal listed in the uncontroversial technical requests section, please move the request to the Contested technical requests section, append a note on the request elaborating on why, and sign with ~~~~. Consider pinging the requester to let them know about the objection.
- If your technical request is contested, or if a contested request is left untouched without reply, create a requested move on the article talk and remove the request from the section here. The fastest and easiest way is to click the "discuss" button at the request, save the talk page, and remove the entry on this page.

Uncontroversial technical requests
- Colonna, City of Rome (currently a redirect to Colonna (rione of Rome)) → Colonna (rione of Rome) (move · discuss) – Colonna, Lazio is a town in the metropolitan city of Rome, so the current title is ambiguous. The new name is per mos. Alex2006 (talk) 18:09, 5 February 2021 (UTC)
- Theddlethorpe → Theddlethorpe St Helen (move · discuss) – Following split of Theddlethorpe All Saints this can be used for the St Helen village and the coordinates are already for that one, its unlikey an article on plain "Theddlethorpe" would be needed. Crouch, Swale (talk) 17:45, 5 February 2021 (UTC)
- Mister Fantastic → Reed Richards (currently a redirect back to Mister Fantastic) (move · discuss) – RM is concluded but the page is move protected Red Slash 16:14, 5 February 2021 (UTC)
- Julius Avitus (currently a redirect to Gaius Julius Avitus Alexianus) → Gaius Julius Avitus Alexianus (move · discuss) – full name should be used, per mos Avilich (talk) 15:28, 5 February 2021 (UTC)
- Children (Johnny Cash song) (currently a redirect to Children (Joe South song)) → Children (Joe South song) (move · discuss) – Joe South was the original performer of the song. Moscow Connection (talk) 01:40, 5 February 2021 (UTC)
Contested technical requests
- Ministry of Defence (currently a redirect to Ministry of defence) → Ministry of defence (move · discuss) – lowercase "d", generic term unless discussing a particular one. Facts707 (talk) 11:57, 5 February 2021 (UTC)
- This isn't a generic term at all. This is a bunch of specific institutions that are all universally capitalized, as can be seen in the article. Don't even see the merits in opening a RM discussion - I could maybe see a move to "List of defence ministries" if you really wanted to go with the generic style, but it's currently in a title style. Requests to revert undiscussed moves
- KRL Rangkasbitung Line (currently a redirect to KAI Commuter Rangkasbitung Line) → KA Commuter line Tanah Abang–Rangkasbitung (currently a redirect instead to KAI Commuter Rangkasbitung Line) (move · discuss) – Undiscussed. 114.79.1.102 (talk) 18:40, 5 February 2021 (UTC)
