Passenger volume section?

[edit]

My recent edit adding a passenger volume section was reverted by @Murgatroyd49 since it was "already in infobox". I don't really understand this on account of the fact that numerous other articles contain both a dedicated passenger volume table and a section in the infobox (i.e. Falls of Cruachan railway station, Aberdeen railway station). As far as I understand it, an infobox is meant to be a quick overview of information already contained within the article.

Either this should not be permitted on any railway station articles or it should be permitted on all. It should not simply be a random policy on a given page. Lewisgill100 (talk) 15:17, 31 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Lewisgill100 Given that editors might not have this on their watchlist, is not a better route to pose this question at Wikipedia:WikiProject UK Railways? The articles covered extend further than this one, and the reach will be greater. For my part, I am unsure, as a nod to what you refer about what's in the infobox being in the article, certain other things do not get a mention in the main body (GridRef, total number of platforms, station code etc). That doesn't mean that I don't think they should not be in there either (Falls of Cruachan being an example). There may have been a discussion where consensus was reached to include, or not include. I do know that the infobox is just the last five years worth of stats to avoid that cluttering up the article, otherwise the infobox would be a metre long! Regards. Thanks for the reply, I've now posted my question on the WikiProject talk page as you suggested. Lewisgill100 (talk) 12:27, 1 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
