About the Editing
[edit]- Moved here from Talk:Control Volume
I'm one of the authors of an article. But I'm not sure why it has to make "merge"? And if any problem, tell me.^^--HydrogenSu 12:51, 24 December 2005 (UTC)
Merge
[edit]Of course, there should be a merge between Control Volume and Control volume. CyrilleDunant 17:34, 31 December 2005 (UTC)
- I agree; I'll do a quick merge.--Sadi Carnot 22:24, 26 July 2006 (UTC)
More than just for Fluid Mechanics
[edit]The article looks at Control Volumes only from the perspective of Fluid Mechanics. What do you think about introducing the article with the general concept of "control volumes" and then exploring the different areas that use them, such as Fluid Mechanics, Thermodynamics, Heat Transfer (both conduction and convection), and even Circuits (e.g. Kirchoff's circuit law). Definition
[edit]I have a problem with the statement: "Generally, a control volume can be thought of as an arbitrary volume in which the mass of fluid remains constant. As fluid moves, this implies that the shape of a control volume is varying with time." A control volume is an open system which is allowed to exchange matter with its surroundings. If the control volume is assumed to be in steady state, it will have a constant mass, but only in that case. What is the source for this claim? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 204.111.251.151 (talk) Oct 23, 2006 (UTC)
