I don't think changing the redirect target on its own is a good idea. This article has detailed information on the building itself, much more than the Second Church of Christ, Scientist (Manhattan) article. Since this page also contains information on the building that's entirely unrelated to the congregation that originally built it, the article on the Second Church seems a bad place for that information. On the other hand, whether there's enough information for a separate article on the First Church is debatable; in the long term that probably is the best course of action. For now I've added a hatnote noting that the "First Church" redirect points here and providing the appropriate link for people interested in the Christian Science congregation. {{ping|Huon}, this notable, landmarked, 1889 building was used for a few years by the Crenshaw Center, which sold it. The exterior is landmarked by the City and cannot be changed. It was built as the First Church of Christ, Scientist (Manhattan) - which redirects here. I would be happy to create an article on the notable First Church of Christ, Scientist (Manhattan) building. Linked to the congregation (which merged as detailed above); to Crenshaw; and to the Children's Museum of Manhattan, which is moving in with pending an renovation of the interior. and linked from Central Park West and the architects Carrère and Hastings. This notable 1889 church building simply does not belong on the page of a California Church that operated a branch in the building for 9 years (2004-2013).E.M.Gregory (talk) 01:28, 5 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
