Much of this article is based on unattributed and probably inaccurate information.

The group was founded in 2001. The idea was to share reporting among the four stations and thus cover the state in a unique way. [These first two sentences are accurate.] This has been hampered because the largest two media markets have substantial populations living in other states, the news of those states being mostly ignored by the stations. [This is unattributed and inaccurate.] The group's news coverage is unable to reach the eastern part of the state, which receives its television from Washington, DC. [Accurate.] The group has also come under fire for its choices regarding on-air personnel and for changing the sets, logos, and graphics of smaller stations to mirror those of WOWK, the Charleston-Huntington member station, thus robbing the smaller stations of their individual identity. [This is unattributed and most likely inaccurate. Under fire from whom -- the article's author?] The group attempted to buy the Charleston Daily Mail daily newspaper, but was not successful. [There is no attribution for this and it is most likely inaccurate.]

The largest private investor in the company is Bray Cary. Cary was formerly an executive with NASCAR, and was responsible for its television contract, and was also involved in syndication of college basketball games. [The statements are accurate.] The company was, however, forced to reveal that the bulk of its funding came from the endowment of West Virginia University and that many state political figures that the stations covered were also investors in the company. [This is most likely inaccurate, as there is no public way to determine that "the bulk of" West Virginia Media's funding came from the endowment. The phrase "forced to reveal" also shows the bias of the article's author.]

Thanks for bringing this to our attention and, yes, this is a perfectly valid way of objecting to content on Wikipedia. I'll take a look at it when I have a chance. I think that most of your concerns are just, but I did hear Cary on WV Public Radio a few weeks ago talk about interest in the Daily Mail, but I don't think that he actually "made an attempt" as the article states, just overtures. youngamerican (ahoy hoy) 13:14, 15 June 2007 (UTC)
