[edit]Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at USS Constellation (CV-64). Your edits appear to be disruptive and have been or will be reverted.
- If you are engaged in an article content dispute with another editor, please discuss the matter with the editor at their talk page, or the article's talk page, and seek consensus with them. Alternatively, you can read Wikipedia's dispute resolution page, and ask for independent help at one of the relevant noticeboards.
- If you are engaged in any other form of dispute that is not covered on the dispute resolution page, please seek assistance at Wikipedia's Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents.
Please ensure you are familiar with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, and please do not continue to make edits that appear disruptive. Continued disruptive editing may result in loss of editing privileges. Thank you. - wolf 21:30, 25 November 2022 (UTC)
You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on USS Constellation (CV-64). This means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be although other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.
Points to note:
- Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
- Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.
If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. - wolf 00:26, 26 November 2022 (UTC)
USS Constellation (CV-64)
[edit]As noted in my previous summary, you should take any concerns to the article talk page for discussion, especially as opposed to continually re-adding that content. I will again ask that you do that. Thank you. - wolf 00:29, 26 November 2022 (UTC)
I see you have re-added that edit again, for the third time is as many hours. If you want to edit Wikipedia, you need to know there are policies & guidelines, as well as established community norms, that you need to abide by, just like everybody else. To begin with, there is WP:BRD, where you;
- Boldly make an edit, it gets
- Reverted, you disagree, so you then
- Discuss the matter on the article talk page.
What you don't do is repeatedly re-add your edit (see the edit warring notice above) while refusing to engage is any way. All users are expected to discuss disputed matters of which they are a part. I have seen many users blocked for refusing to respond to such matters. I have started a thread for this issue on the article talk page, at Talk:USS Constellation (CV-64)#Content dispute. Your edit, in it's current state, is problematic, for several reasons. If you wish to learn more, or even work on some variation that might be more acceptable, then you need to take part in a discussion about it. Otherwise, your edit cannot remain. - wolf 01:35, 27 November 2022 (UTC)
This is the discussion page for an IP user, identified by the user's IP address. Many IP addresses change periodically, and are often shared by several users. If you are an IP user, you may create an account or log in to avoid future confusion with other IP users. Registering also hides your IP address. |
