There's a page that needs to be created
A Wiki page needs to be created for Carrie Underwood's fourth studio album, Blown Away. The tracklist, cover art, and many more details have already been revealved so there's suffiecient things to add into it's page. Nobody has made a page for it yet. I don't know how, so i was hoping you could do it or place the task on someone you know will do it.
Thank you, Gay4RKOGay4RKO (talk) 16:22, 3 April 2012 (UTC)
- You still need to change your username, please. If you didn't get my previous message about it, it's in my talk archive. You can create an article using the article creation wizard, which will guide you through the process. If you can't manage that, you could put it onto the list of requested articles, which is massively backlogged, or simply wait for someone else to create it. She's a popular musician; it won't take long. Danger High voltage! 16:35, 3 April 2012 (UTC)

COI templates
Hi, got your message regarding the username COI template. Are you only concerned with COI usernames that are editing only within two weeks of the present day? Are you not concerned about corporate-like usernames even if they have an intermittent editing habit? Just wondering if this is a policy issue or time/resource issue (ie. enough admins to enforce). Thanks. --Drm310 (talk) 22:23, 6 April 2012 (UTC)
- My position is that only users who persist in editing after they've been warned that their username is against policy should be blocked. I think blocking on sight is unnecessarily bitey. Once the category I mentioned becomes large enough, it's no longer useful as a tracking category, so even if those warned users continue editing, we won't know about it by having them in the category.
- There's nothing specific in the policy about this; some admins do block on sight for violations, some are more lenient than I am. It's pretty much a resource issue; there aren't enough admins inclined to block on sight to take care of all the promotional usernames and without a good way to track the accounts, we might as well just wait until they actually do edit again. Danger High voltage! 22:37, 6 April 2012 (UTC)
- Fair enough, thanks for the explanation. I think I will still flag those usernames, if only to dissuade them from future editing and hopefully motivate them to change their username. I'll check their editing history and remove them from CAT:UAA if their last edits were more than two weeks old. --Drm310 (talk) 04:41, 7 April 2012 (UTC)
- Yes, by all means continue to flag them! I should have been clearer about that. Thanks for your work in this area; it is definitely appreciated. Danger High voltage! 08:00, 7 April 2012 (UTC)

I wouldn't consider your revocation of the talk page access "rash", but I'd certainly prefer like a 1-month semi-protection instead.--Jasper Deng (talk) 05:46, 22 April 2012 (UTC)
- It seems like there might be some unspoken frown-upon against revoking talk page access for IPs or something (otherwise why would one semi the page instead?). I'm just not sure and on further consideration I'd like someone more familiar with the norms of protection/IP blocking to take care of it. And thus do the backlogs never get cleared. Alas. Many apologies. I hope that the situation gets sorted eventually. If history holds, we have a few months before he graces us with his presence again. Danger High voltage! 06:54, 22 April 2012 (UTC)

Han dynasty - vandalism
Hi I have tried to find how to blockade vandal and revert his/her changes on page. But it is hard to do. Especially when you are not native speaker. User 24.16.71.52 destroyed feature article Han Dynasty. He/she edited very much changes without sense for example: Date of end of Han Dynasty 220 CE → 279 CE, date of reign of emperor Gaozu of Han form 202-195 → 202-175, Cao cao date of death 220 → 279. He/she enjoyed a lot or try to prove that wiki is unreliable source of information. It makes no sense to correct every change of that user and I want to back to version of article before vandalism. And try to stop vandal (blockade?). How to do it? Birkeen (talk) 12:05, 1 May 2012 (UTC)
- The way to revert a lot of vandalism at once is to go into the page history (the "history" tab at the top of your screen) and find the last version before the vandalism started. Then, you click on the date of that version, so you're looking at the old version of the article. Then you click "edit" and you'll see a warning that says something like "you're editing an old version of this page. If you save, any changes made since then will be undone", which is good because that's what you want to do. Save the page, using an edit summary like "rv to clean version" or something like that. If you enable the gadget Twinkle on your preferences screen, there's also a way to do this with one click. You can find more information here.
- To deal with a single vandal like in this case, you should make sure to warn them that they are not being helpful and that they can be blocked if they continue. If they keep vandalising, you can report them to the admin board. For more information, go here. I hope this makes sense and was helpful. Danger High voltage! 16:22, 1 May 2012 (UTC)

Deletion of 'The Indian Chamber of Commerce Hong Kong'
Hi,
I saw that you deleted the Indian Chamber of Commerce Hong Kong page I had created last night. I agree that the contents were copied and it was intended that way. We are trying to get the ICCHK page on the Wikipedia. How do I ensure that you dont delete again? Will an official mail from the Secretary General of ICCHK confirm that the intent was bona fide. Even I dont intend to repeat the text and working on more elaborate contents. I wanted to keep the basic placeholder while we are working on other contents.
Since I am new to Wikipedia editing, I am not sure if I should be leaving my email on this talk page. My login is associated with my personal id and feel free to drop a note.

- Hello Ajay, yes, this is a good place to leave a message. If you would like to donate the text, you should follow the directions here. However, it is unlikely that the text the ICCHK uses is appropriate for a Wikipedia article and it's also unlikely that the ICCHK is an appropriate topic for a Wikipedia article. I'm also concerned that you may have a conflict of interest regarding the ICCHK and encourage you to read this page on how to proceed if you have a conflict of interest on a topic that you'd like to write about. - Re uptight maintenance: You're welcome. Remember the next time you're cribbing paragraphs for your term papers off of Wikipedia, it's uptight people who make sure that you're not turning in a paper replete with random insertions of "penis" and "poo". - I just saw this as I was working my way to the bottom. ;o) Very nicely phrased. My favorte might be the since-removed spam verbiage in the IBM Blue Genie-line Top 500 (or 100?) supercomputer. The defacement (vandalism?) said that that the O/S it ran on was Windows 95. I giggle at that just thinking about it! Oh, and the talk page for the somewhat silly 68-95-99 article (or is it 67.6-96.4-99.? article?) has a silly joke about being a 3-smegma outlier. --FeralOink (talk) 03:21, 25 December 2012 (UTC)
Article that you cleaned up
This is terribly sketchy. I just wanted you to know that you did a good job on that British rock band Afc which I rejected. I wanted to let you know that I left a message for the author, user Barry Shrimpton, with much more detail about what I was objecting to, as I didn't realize the problem with the 31 seemingly missing reference links that weren't truly missing. I am in a very big hurry right now, must empty dishwasher and cook dinner else will be in trouble. Sorry for brevity, dropped articles! --FeralOink (talk) 05:04, 25 December 2012 (UTC)
- Thank you! I had to do a double take; I've never seen references listed like that, but, oh well. Thanks for leaving Shrimpton a note. Good luck with the dinner; if you celebrate Christmas, merry Christmas to you. Danger High voltage! 16:38, 25 December 2012 (UTC)

That was intriguing, including with the reverting. Thank you. If it was plagiarized from Wikipedia, I hope for the best. There are more contributions coming, including a large one that I hope to have ready in a few months. Nick Levinson (talk) 17:14, 6 January 2013 (UTC)

RaykGlobal Page declined
Thanks for your review on http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:A326150512/RaykGlobal !
I wrote this article with a mere purpose to introduce an organization with the tag "RaykGlobal", therefore I would want to keep this article short and simple and easy to read, which led to the references to be a few. Much like this article(perhaps) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SKB_Cases In the meantime I was hoping this would enrich the wiki China Business project, I would like to take more time to enhance the references in the future, but for now I deleted all the "top page references" as editer Danger informed.
Once again, thanks for all your time to edit this!
A326150512 (talk) 04:13, 9 January 2013 (UTC)
- Thank you for alerting me to the existence of the SKB Cases article. It does not appear to meet Wikipedia's standards for inclusion and I have nominated it for deletion. It is not a good model for an article that you are trying to create.

- First, it is not appropriate to use Wikipedia to promote your book. All article subjects are required to be "notable", which is Wikipedia jargon for "has been written about in independent sources" and not a statement of the quality or importance of the subject. If the book has not been covered in the press and has not actually won any prizes, I suggest that you do not continue editing this draft, as it is extremely unlikely that it will be accepted. I would hate for you to waste your time. Danger High voltage! 06:26, 11 January 2013 (UTC)

- Hello Mr. Ashraf. Please read our guide for editors with a conflict of interest. Creating articles about your own work is strongly discouraged. I suggest that you make a request for someone else to create an article about your film at Requested Articles. There are many editors here interested in Indian cinema who may write that article. Please help me which sources are causing the 'not so reliable sources'.
I was having hard time trying to add an article for creation 'Bae, Kim & Lee LLC'. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia_talk:Articles_for_creation/Bae,_Kim_%26_Lee_LLC#Bae.2C_Kim_.26_Lee_LLC It says I need to insert citation for more reliable sources however I am not sure which one is not. Would you possibly help me to improve the article? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 210.103.207.42 (talk) 05:03, 28 January 2013 (UTC)
- At the moment, the question is more which of your listed sources are both independent and reliable and have significant coverage of the organisation. So for example I don't feel this source offers significant independent coverage of the organisation, because it's really just a listing of information provided by the organisation itself. ("BKL is able to deliver swift, focused advice in every area of commercial interest" is the phrase that gives that away.) It's worth keeping as a reference, because such listings tend to be accurate, but it doesn't solve the problem of needing significant independent coverage. You also cite the law firm's own website several times - that's obviously not independent. Make sure you click on the "golden rule" link to see what's required.
- As a law firm with presumably a thousand or so employees, the firm is probably notable by Wikipedia's standards. If it were a UK firm, I would look in publications like The Lawyer for significant coverage - as an industry magazine, it's both reliable and independent. Perhaps there are similar publications in Korea or China? (Sources don't have to be in the English language.)
- Your article submission also has multiple different versions of the article all on the same page; you should sort that out. Click Edit at the top, not on the right, and edit the page so that there is only one copy of the submission.
- Finally, you might want to format your references so that there is more information about what each item is. For an example, look at how the references are formatted on Rajinder Kaur Bhattal - that will also show you how to name a reference so that it doesn't show up more than once in the references list when it's used multiple times in different places in the article. --Demiurge1000 (talk) 09:45, 28 January 2013 (UTC)

feefo page and notabilty
Hi. I am struggling with the comment that Feefo is not 'notable'. I read over the golden rules and they are a significant player. They won the Travolution Award as the rising brand for the travel industry at the end of 2012 and many of their clients are notable enough to have Wikipedia entries in their own right.
In your own guidelines this says that their products and services are a valid subject for a separate wikipedia article dedicated solely to that organisation or product. It is used by up to 80,000 people per day leaving reviews (alexa figures as at 28.01.13) and is growing very fast.
I have made some further small updates but please can you advise me what more I need to do next? Johndesmond (talk) 18:18, 29 January 2013 (UTC)
- Winning a non-notable award sponsored by the company itself is not particularly good evidence of notability. Being a member of an organization that anyone can pay to join is also not good evidence of notability. If that's the extent of this company's objective achievements, then the only option is to find independent coverage of the company in reliable sources. That means that the sources can't be associated with Feefo (ie paid PR reviews don't count, nor do self-published pieces by people associated with Feefo) and the coverage has to be more than reprints of press releases. If these sorts of sources don't exist, then the company does not meet our inclusion criteria. Danger High voltage! 18:40, 29 January 2013 (UTC)

Rejection of Article
Hi.
I'm part of a group which submitted this article about Connie Varnhagen for our University project. Just to clarify, which sections are in need of independent sources? As this will enable us to correct the issues as quickly as possible.
Many thanks for the quick update about the problems with the page.
Bellsniff123 (talk) 16:43, 5 March 2013 (UTC)
- The article needs independent sources to prove notability. Unless her work has been discussed at length in the wider academic community or she has received one of the honors listed at WP:PROF, an article about Varnhagen herself may not be appropriate for Wikipedia. (Updating other articles to reflect her research is a different matter.) Does this make sense? Danger High voltage! 17:36, 5 March 2013 (UTC)

- The Tri-State Defender and Billboard are certainly reliable sources. The SEA Entertainment Awards is reliable for the information that it's used to source. I'm not at all invested in this article and would consider it borderline for notability. Danger High voltage! 17:24, 14 March 2013 (UTC)

Currently there's an issue on University Philosophical Society page regarding certain important dates (this is a long standing issue). However recently and unfortunately this has resulted in a semi edit-war between myself and 46.7.236.155. I've taken the issue to Talk:University Philosophical Society page (outlined the argument as best I can), however the user seems to be unwavering and doesn't seem to want to discuss the issue but rather agrues the same point over and over.
I've tried my best to sort the problem and recently bulked up the Dublin Philosophical Society page with more than enough references, but still to no avail.
Could you help in resolving the issue in some way?
Thanks, KountKurly (talk) 18:15, 14 May 2013 (UTC)

Hello Danger, thank you for reaching out. It is great to work a Wikipedia administrator to be sure everything is done correctly. This is the former AxonaForAD account, under a new name. Now that I have a new name, please let me know if the edits proposed on the Axona article are permissible and any thoughts you have moving forward. - Hi. I should probably clarify that, as an admin, I have no special status above other editors. I do, however, have the technical ability to block accounts and thought that mentioning my adminship was more polite than saying "I am watching and I will block this account if you don't change you name now". :-)
- I've made some comments on the talk page. You should read the "Plain and simple conflict of interest guide" very carefully. And then read it again. That's the best advice I can give for your work on Axona specifically, but I'd encourage you to get a feel for how Wikipedia works by exploring and maybe editing subjects that you're interested in personally.
