There is nothing so special about this image that we couldn't substitute a free image of another Amfleet route, or describe it textually. Thus I contend that it fails WP:NFCC#1 for replaceability, as well as WP:NFCC#8 for contextual significance of this specific image. SchuminWeb (Talk) 05:43, 26 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

This image is violation of Wikipedia:Non-free content criteria policy, clause 3, since it can be easily replaced with File:Windows 7.png (or any other image seen in Windows 7 article) and unnecessarily contains intellectual properties of third parties like Adobe and Cyberlink. The result of the discussion was: Erroneous Nomination. When following the listing instructions (step 2), you need to replace "File_name.ext
" with the actual name of the file. You'll also want to put the name of the uploader just after "Uploader=
", and your reason for deletion just after "Reason=
". Feel free to just replace this entire section with the corrected template. If you are still having trouble, ask for help at WT:FFD or at my talk page. AnomieBOT⚡ 10:05, 26 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Non-free image used in the Carleton University article only to show a former vice-chancellor standing with Dag Hammarskjöld. This photograph is not discussed in the text, it does not illustrate anything mentioned in the text, it is not the subject of sourced commentary, and it does not increase readers' understanding of Carleton University. Any information conveyed by this image could easily be given with free text. Its use fails WP:NFCC#1 and WP:NFCC#8. —Bkell (talk) 13:31, 26 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The image fails criteria #8: contextual significance for WP:NFC. It does not significantly increase readers' understanding of the I Kissed a Girl video. TThe article already contains one non-free image ( the album cover) which provides the same visual information as the screenshot. — CactusWriter (talk) 17:22, 26 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned. Adds nothing to the reader's understanding of Judith Barsi. Sottolacqua (talk) 20:20, 26 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- Keep It's orphaned only because you removed the file from the article. If it doesn't add to the reader's understanding it's because you removed the explanation from the description explaining why that soundbite is important to her article. It's basically the line she is most famous for. The line is even engraved in her tombstone and was mentioned in the section of the article that the file was originally located in. Since she's dead, it's not replaceable with a free version. The entire sound clip represents only 1 second of a 69 minute film so I think that qualifies as fair use. For An Angel (talk) 14:55, 28 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- Comment Also, user Sottolacqua ignored requests to explain issues he/she had with the article on the talk page. For An Angel (talk) 14:55, 28 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- There is no additional understanding this file provides to Judith Barsi. The article was setup to resemble a memorial prior to my edits, with large amounts of unsourced information and fan activity. Sottolacqua (talk) 15:25, 28 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- That the article resembled a memorial is irrelevant to this file. Besides, other than removing this file, all you did was tag bomb the article. [2] You did nothing to improve the quality of the article. For An Angel (talk) 16:47, 28 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- This file still provides no additional understanding or insight into the topic. It's not a famous line, it's not part of AFI's 100 Years...100 Movie Quotes, and the only Google results are links to the video line on Youtube, the ability to purchase a ringtone, or links back to wikis. Sottolacqua (talk) 16:52, 28 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- I'm not arguing that the line is notable enough to deserve it's own article, but I think it's notable enough to her (albeit short) life to be included in her article. For An Angel (talk) 18:52, 28 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- The inclusion of this file serves no purpose whatsoever. Billions of lines of dialogue have been spoken by actors in movies, and this specific line has no notability or specific tie to this character. It's not her catch phrase, nor is it a well known line/famous quote. Sottolacqua (talk) 18:54, 28 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

- Keep. This version (before Sottolacqua's cuts) had adequate commentary as to the clip's relevance to the person, at least enough to justify a 1 second clip. I have restored the relevant text to the article. This article does not "resemble a memorial", but it has a small "legacy" section, similar to sections in many featured articles here on Wikipedia. Sottolacqua, it's very bad form to remove a file (and its relevant discussion) from an article and then nominate it for deletion for being orphaned and not discussed in the article. Please don't do this again. – Quadell (talk) 19:06, 28 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- That version lists it as a "famous line". This is not a famous line by any means—it's a line of dialogue from a film. Again, it provides no additional understanding of or insight into who this person is, is not closely tied to the actor, and is not considered "famous" or "notable" in any sources. It's at most a line added to a fan-purchased grave marker where she is buried. Additionally, including a line of dialogue like this is not standard for articles about actors. Sottolacqua (talk) 20:02, 28 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- Though my comment remains, I do approve of these changes. – Quadell (talk) 20:34, 28 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

- Keep. There really is no valid argument at all for deletion. The orphaned argument is clearly no longer valid, so we are left with a WP:NFCC#8 argument that has been refuted convincingly. The standard here is not whether the audio is important, but whether it adds to an understanding of what the page is about. If there have been problems with the tone of the article text, then they should be addressed by editing the text, not by deleting this file. --Tryptofish (talk) 15:27, 29 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
