- Project News
- There is still an ongoing discussion to determine the composition of the core list for our project. The list would develop a new contest department and needs further input from members of the project.
- We have now reached over 39,000 film-related articles that have been assessed by our assessment department! We will likely be reaching 40,000 articles by next month's newsletter. Remember to always add the {{Film|class=}} template to a film article's talk page so the project can get a better idea of what work still needs to be done. Below is a table showing a breakdown of our articles by class and importance.
- If you are interested in assisting with our project's peer review department, there is currently a backlog. Please drop by and assist in improving these articles as they seek higher assessments.
- A current discussion is going on at the talk page of the FA criteria concerning if plot sections for films and other fictional works should be sourced or not. If interested, please add your comments on the discussion.
- There are currently about 30 film and film-related articles at WP:GAN waiting to be reviewed. If you have not considerably edited one of the articles, you can perform a review by following these instructions. The list of articles can be seen here.
- Currently, the film section of Wikipedia:Good articles is the fifth-largest of all of the topics listed. Keep up the good work, we have really excelled in the last few months. Consider bringing an article or two up to GA status by yourself or with several other editors. The article must meet the requirements of the GA criteria and follow our project's style guidelines. Look to the current film GAs for examples on how to further expand an article you are working on. Let's continue to advance our coverage of film-related GAs on Wikipedia!
- Spotlight Update: Multiple films and film-related articles have reached GA and FA status in February 2008.
