Sutera Mall is located in Taman Sutera Utama of about 1,000 acres and is a township development. It is complimented by the adjacent matured township Taman Ungku Tun Aminah and a few others which are set to be the focal point of development at the Johor Bahru – Skudai – Senai growth corridor situated within the Iskandar Development Region (IDR). Skudai has a thriving population of almost 500,000, a strong pool of young and dynamic population catchments. Sutera Mall since its opening on the 8th August 2008 has grown with an occupancy rate of 98% to-date. Our tenancy mix on F & B just to name a few are renown and well known Pekin Restaurant, Kinsahi Japanese Restaurant, Bread Talk, KFC, Toast Box, Secret Recipe, Uncle Jo, Seasons, Vivo Pizza, El Migos, Taste Bugs, Macoca Chocolate, Shi Lin and Daily Fresh. We also have De Gem, Eu Yan Sang, Sen Q, Levis, Lee, Nokia, Maxis, Celcom, Digi, Sony Ericson, Mary Chia, Slimming Sanctuary, Elianto since the opening of mall with us. Our Anchor Tenant is Carrefour. New retailers opening in November 2010 would be Popular Bookstore , Royal Sporting House and Watson. Our monthly visitor/traffic count is now at the 600,000 pax per month and we expect this figure to improve further.

Since the opening of our shopping mall, we have organized a substantial number of big scaled programmes. In our first year of operation, we had “The Legacy of Tan Kah Kee and Lee Kong Chian Exhibition, The Chinese Cultural Exhibition, The International 4 Wheel Drive – Rain Forest Challenge, 8 TV Ultimate Power Group Audition, Lao Fu Zi – The Old Master Q Road Show, Juz Beer Helicopter Road Show. This year , we have The Legacy of Food and Culture” and “The Johor Bahru Mid-Autumn Festival Opening” and our Anniversary Celebration. Activities and programmes were also been held during weekend, just to name a few, performances by popular artists, opera shows, magic shows, etc. We have also organized programmes for School Children such as Chinese calligraphy, Speech and Chess Competitions, Riddle Guessing, Kolam making, Indian Show, Kindergarten Graduation Ceremony, Lantern Making Competition. We also have Traditional Chinese Opera Shows of different Dialects on stage so as to be different from other Shopping Malls.
