Chase: Dodge camper is chased by Lincoln Continental, GMC Jimmy, Chevy Bel Air and a helicopter. EDIT: I'll try and post pics of the actual chase, esp. since there's some good stunts involving the helicopter flying directly alongside the camper. -- Last edit: 2009-07-26 00:22:04 |

The chase effectively ends with the camper turning into a bad special effect (well, it's pretty awesome for 1975 and I'm sure people loved it at the time) and the Jimmy landing in a lake. The Lincoln Continental and the helicopter continue following the airborne motorhome, but by this point it's just not really a chase anymore. In hindsight, the sequence reminds me a bit of It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World. Must be the twisty-turny roads and the humorous ends the villains' cars come to. -- Last edit: 2009-07-28 06:49:47 |

I can't believe they wrecked the Bel Air. How much would it be worth today? 40,000 $? 50,000 $? |

The actual collision happens offscreen as a sound effect. Then we just see it propped against the tree like that. Chances are it survived. |
