Welcome to Racked LA's search for Los Angeles' hottest trainer. Over the coming weeks, we'll profile sixteen smoking candidates who work at local gyms and studios. (Not only do they look hot in spandex, but if you take their classes, you might someday look nearly as good.) Then, once you've gotten to know everyone, we'll host a March Madness-style showdown in which you get to vote for your favorite. Let the games begin!

Meet our twelfth contestant, Nichelle Hines. Although Cycle House's CRO (Chief Ride Officer) is clearly a natural, she actually spun into the world of indoor cycling by accident. "I started teaching spin in October of 2008 after an instructor didn't show up for class. The manager of the gym ran into the room and asked me to teach. I begrudgingly said yes, fell in love with it, and was on the schedule the very next day. It was definitely a happy accident!"
Known as a "loving drill sergeant," Hines encourages clients to take their workouts to the next level, inspiring riders to give her their all. "A fun fact about me is that I used to weigh over 200 pounds, so when I speak about pushing my clients and showing them tough love, this comes from a place of understanding since I experienced it first-hand."
A piece of advice for beginners: "So often people walk into my class afraid, but I want them to come in cautiously optimistic. This means be safe, know and work within your physical boundaries, but most importantly, come in with a good attitude and expecting to have a great time. It's very empowering and fun to learn something new so try and embrace that aspect, listen to the instructor and learn as much as you can. It makes the experience so much more enjoyable."
