LOS FIELD TRIPS 2023
Empidonax Flycatchers in the Field - Saturday, 26 August:
Dago’s Seafood, 3902 Darnall Rd, New Iberia, LA 70560
Join LBRC member Dr. Erik Johnson and Matt Conn to study one of the most confusing groups of birds in North America. Meet at 6:30AM at Dago’s Seafood (the Exxon Station) in Lydia, LA (Iberia Parish). From there, the group will caravan to one or more nearby private properties in search of confusing Empidonax flycatchers (like Acadian, Least, Alder, Willow, Yellow-bellied), as well as other early fall migrants like Mourning and Canada Warblers. Be prepared for biting insects (deer flies, mosquitos, etc.), and bring water, sunscreen, and snack as desired. We should finish up by noon. This trip is limited to 10 participants.
