There are a 1,000 reasons why Henry Ford II High School is proud of senior Alix Sorgi.
For this reason, the school honored Sorgi Wednesday night for scoring her 1,000th point for the girls varsity basketball team.
Sorgi is a four-year varsity starter who is only the second player in the program’s history to score 1,000 points.

“Alex is a tremendous athlete who is one of the most competitive players I have coached,” said coach Matt Joseph. “She is the total student-athlete as she has combined an outstanding athletic career, high academic success and has been involved in numerous clubs and activities in school. To achieve 1,000 points is an unbelievable accomplishment and to average 13 points per game during her career is a credit to her consistency.”
Sorgi is also a three time member of the Macomb County all-defensive team. Earlier this year, Alex set a school record by knocking down seven triples in a game against Bishop Foley.
