Work Immersion at PMDS

Aside from the research components across learning areas in the Senior High School curriculum, the curriculum planners of the Department of Education incorporated the Subject Work Immersion. This learning area provides Senior High School learners with opportunities to become familiar with the workplace, stimulate employment, and apply competencies in areas of specialization on applied subjects in the actual work environment to prepare them or all curriculum exits.

At the Patronage of Mary Development School, a Senior High School student has to undergo Work Immersion in an industry that directly relates to his/her postsecondary goal. With the partner industries, PMDS provides students the avenues for exposure and familiarization with work-related environments related to their field of specialization to enhance their competence.

The Senior High School Department Chairperson of PMDS, Mr. Melvin Arias, expressed his profound gratitude to the industry partners who willingly supported the school’s effort to develop the student’s social skills and work values.

Some Patrocinians shared their thoughts and experiences about their work immersion program. JM Postrano expressed that “the work emersion has allowed me to discover my potential while enhancing my social skills” Jeian Therese Canillo, on the other hand, realized that  “our off-campus exposure provided us the opportunity to see and experience the real world of work. We encountered difficulties but we were able to address them using our initiatives and resourcefulness.
