Florida Gators Named 2015 Fall Scholar All-America Team

GAINESVILLE, Florida — The University of Florida women’s swimming and diving team was recognized as a 2015 Spring Scholar All-America Team by the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA), the organization announced Tuesday.

The recognition is presented to college and university swimming and diving teams, who have achieved a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher. The women’s team, led by head coach Gregg Troy, earned a team GPA of 3.25.

The CSCAA also selected individuals to the Scholar All-America team based on their performance both in the classroom and in the pool. Individual selections must have achieved a GPA of a 3.50 or higher and have participated in their respective swimming and diving championships. Honorable Mention selections must have similarly achieved a GPA of 3.50 and achieved a “B” time standard or competed at their respective qualifying meets.

Sophomores Alyssa Yambor-Maul and Autumn Finke were named to the Scholar All-America team, while junior Delaney Dye was tabbed honorable mention.

Yambor-Maul capped her sophomore campaign at the NCAA Championships, posting career-best times of 53.43 and 1:56.70 in the 100-yard and 200-yard butterfly races, respectively. 

Finke recorded a top-10 finish at the SEC Championship, finishing ninth in the mile (16:17.36). The Clearwater, Florida, native then added a pair of season-best times at the NCAA Championships in the 500-yard freestyle (4:46.32) and 1,650-yard freestyle (16:13.93).

Dye competed in all three events at the NCAA Zone Diving Championships and recorded scores of 239.80 (one-meter), 251.65 (three-meter) and 214.05 (platform) at the meet. Dye also dove to a top-10 finish off the platform at the SEC Championships, finishing eighth with a score of 238.40.

The CSCAA honors academic excellence upon completion of the fall and spring semesters. The Gator women will return to the pool this fall coming off a top-10 finish at the NCAA Championships for the 15th-consecutive season.
