I miss the way they did precons. In the original precons, all the psychographs were represented. (Johnny would have a field day with all but the Mardu deck.) Here's how they stacked up:

Kaalia of the Vast Timmy and Spike

Tariel, Reckoner of Souls Timmy

Basandra, Battle Seraph Spike

Riku of Two Reflections Timmy and Johnny

Animar, Soul of Elements Timmy and Spike

Edric, Spymaster of Trest Spike

Ghave, Guru of Spores All three (Johnny likes the "combos with anything" nature of Ghave; Spike likes the sac outlet and the fact that you can use any +1/+1 counter for Ghave's abilities; Timmy likes an army of mushroom people.)

Karador, Ghost Chieftain Spike

Vish Kal, Blood Arbiter Spike

Zedruu the Greathearted *f-etch* Johnny

Ruhan of the Fomori Spike

Nin, the Pain Artist Johnny and Spike

The Mimeoplasm Johnny and Spike

Damia, Sage of Stone Spike

Skullbriar, the Walking Grave Timmy and Spike

Not that it was all Timmy and Johnny; the first precons did include a reprint of Skullclamp after all.

Look at the last precons? All eight of the new legends were designed for Spike. Where's the room for creativity on the part of players?

I admit that some of the changes to EDH have been fine. (I joke that nobody used instants before 2014. Which is somewhat true, people were more concerned with card advantage with their answers than they were with actual, you know, answers.) But I would like some legends to be designed for Johnny or Timmy.

I have some fun stuff in my torture deck (https://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/10-05-19-torture/) that could replace font. Nin, the Pain Artist is fun. Even stuff like Painful Lesson. Poke around and see what you think. I agree that the new Pinhead guy is a good idea... even fits my torture theme!

Not sure if I'm missing something, but Sram, Senior Edificer seems good in here. Battlemage's Bracers can double your Commander's ability, Haste might come up idk. Lae'zel, Vlaakith's Champion can add an extra counter each time you add a counter. Jhoira, Weatherlight Captain will probably draw you some cards if you resolve her. Shorikai, Genesis Engine is more card draw to consider, it also makes pilots that can drive your vehicles if you're desperate.

If you can find anything that lets you put -1/-1 counters on opponent's stuff it would be very useful with your Proliferate abilities, Contagion Engine is a good example of what I mean, this starts small but fairly quickly will wipe out everything your opponents control. Choking Fumes could be an interesting surprise, especially if you can proliferate a few times after the spell resolves, possibly turning an attack against you into a bloodbath. Retribution would normally be pretty bad, but here you for sure kill one of the two creatures right away, and the other one will die quickly enough due to Proliferate.

It's a bit 'weird', but if you get out Nin, the Pain Artist out with your Commander you can pay 2UR to ping your Commander for 2 (which won't kill them) and draw 2 cards, that seems like an interesting floor. In a pinch you can remove a creature an opponent controls. If you have a bigger creature you can draw more, the price is surprisingly low since it can cost you no other resources.

I always love decks with Dwarves, such an underappreciated tribe! I have a soft spot for Dwarven Miner and Dwarven Blastminer, two very similar cards that can cripple some decks, I have essentially eliminated an otherwise problematic player by just resolving a Dwarf and locking them out of non-Basics for a measly 2R per turn.

Cool deck!

I was making a similar artwork list and stumbled upon yours. It's very good and I found some great additions. I'd like to suggest some other cards I've found myself:

Wakedancer, Bloodbond Vampire, Asylum Visitor, Guul Draz Vampire, Stream of Unconsciousness, Beguiler of Wills, Nin, the Pain Artist, Oriss, Samite Guardian, Cursebreak, Ruthless Cullblade and Manaforge Cinder

Cheers!

Nin, the Pain Artist and Endrek Sahr, Master Breeder would probably make my Torture! deck perfectly flavored. The mechanics would work okay together... but the FLAVOR chefs_kiss.gif Circu, Dimir Lobotomist is a close second... but I really dig Endrek’s mechanic.

FormOverFunction on Overperforming Cards?

I’ve really enjoyed the trap-door-spider-aspect of Whipkeeper in my torture deck. Being able to double-up on combat damage with a below-the-radar sleeper card like that is a lot of fun. No one pays much attention to it (or recognizes it, honestly) until it swoops at an opportune time...which then, sadly, draws it a lot of hate. Pairs well with Nin, the Pain Artist (unless you’re torturing your own creatures) or any other mana-reliant damage. Also hits the bullseye on theme.
