Skyclave Apparition
Creature — Kor Spirit
When this enters, exile up to one target nonland, nontoken permanent you don't control with converted mana cost/mana value 4 or less.
When this leaves the battlefield, the exiled card's owner creates an X/X blue Illusion creature token, where X is the mana value of the exiled card.

Craeter Thank you so much for feedback! I am planning to edit the primer for readability and I will add in accordions, thanks for the tip.
For Brenard, one of the reasons I enjoyed building him is he encourages you to forgo a lot of staples so instead of swiftfoot boots we have cards like Benevolent Bodyguard and Selfless Spirit etc. Targeted exile spells can be hard so I'm considering adding Linvala, Shield of Sea Gate for that. If someone tries to slap something like Darksteel Mutation on him we also have Foundation Breaker, Skyclave Apparition, etc. Having all this protection be creatures can have drawbacks but with Brenard it's usually the opposite.
Love the feedback! You're right there's so many directions Brenard can go as such a versatile commander I just happen to love how good he is for populate (:

I think Spectral Sailor would be better than Lunarch Veteran Flip. You would be surprised how often that little bit of card draw can help.
I also still think you need to add more removal. Skyclave Apparition is a great card and should be in this deck, but it's 3 mana and at sorcery speed most of the time. Just my 2 cents! :-D

Ah, many thanks BioProfDude, I’ll take all the help I can get.
I’m glad you suggested Cavern of Souls—I originally intended to include it, but (long story short) when I added it to the deck it got flagged as illegal so I took it out. Idk the cardpool yet and I was reading mixed things, but it’s good to have confirmation.
Thanks for the sideboard suggestions too—I’ll roll with them until I get a feel for what I’m up against, and what works/doesn’t.
I will say Curious Obsession has been holding up well. I was running out of steam too soon and a set of those more or less put an end to that problem. I feel like I want to continue running them until something better comes along.
Get Lost and Sheltered by Ghosts are both new to me; I can see value in both, but between all the countermagic and faux removal (Skyclave Apparition etc) do you think they’re still necessary?

Crow_Umbra on Zinnia fun

I started brewing Zinnia recently. I brewed Satya, Aetherflux Genius as just Value ETBs, & Energy is just a secondary support to keep around certain value creatures. Long-winded way of saying that the Zinnia deck I started brewing is basically just the Satya deck without the Energy support & a few other cards swapped out.
I think Zinnia wants lower curve creatures with value ETBs, so paying the Offspring cost feels fairly reliable. You could def do stuff like:
You can def get tech-y with your ETBs & tailor them to your meta. You can also add in a sprinkle of ETB blink effects to keep reusing your ETBs, like Felidar Guardian

ApophisWrath, Thanks for checking out the build and for the interest. I have updated the list to reflect my current build on Arena. Looks like I added 2 Revoke Existence to the mainboard to help deal with The One Ring and stuff like that, along with two land destruction lands to help deal with Field of the Dead. Also took out one Skyclave Apparition and put one Ajani, Strength of the Pride in as a potential one sided board wipe. He can also help boost your life total to 27 to trigger the Righteous Valkyrie. As far as the shock counters go, I'm not totally sure what to do about that. I heard of a card the other day that prevents players from getting counters altogether, though I cannot seem to remember the name of the card at the moment. Might not even be on Arena, could be a Modern Card. I'll see if I can dig up the answer. Maybe Solemnity? Good luck with the deck though, I'd love to hear it if you have any Ideas on new cards for mainboard slots. I was thinking about Get Lost, and Final Showdown as potentials.

9-lives Cool, i'll keep all my card suggestions to $3-or-less per card.
Being one card-down is not worth it for only really knowing what your topdeck is. If you are using Assemble the Players you are wasting resources for almost no gain. Added to this a point which hasn't been mentioned yet - drawing a second copy of this card is absolutely disastrous, as you can't do anything useful with it.
Lawmage's Binding is worse that Oppressive Rays because 3 mana for a card that's still not removing a creature is just really bad value. Far better spells to remove the opponents creatures are Skyclave Apparition, Stasis Snare, Oblivion Ring, Fateful Absence, Declaration in Stone, Prismatic Ending, and Path to Exile
Opt, Preordain, Serum Visions, and Consider are all cheap and are overwhelmingly better than Defiant Strike.
If you're trying to be aggressive with control, your current creatures are really lacking. The current creatures you're running would fit better in a tax-like build, where the aim is to mess with your opponents tempo but ultimately just slowly chip-through damage. If you're trying to play an aggressive-control deck (like the Murktide Regent list) in , then your best bet for creatures on a budget would probably be Tolarian Terror, Delver of Secrets Flip, Spell Queller, Haughty Djinn, and maybe Lion Sash

Nice work! I’m currently working on an Azorious Spirits deck myself, which is likely going to use a lot of these cards. A card that I’m using and I’ve seen in a lot of decks is Rattlechains, which allows you to cast Skyclave Apparition (as well as all your other spirits) at instant speed. I hope you have fun with this deck!
