List of elected officials and their positions in the Town of Wilton.
Town Board is the legislative appropriating, governing and policy determining body of the Town. The Town Board determines the types and levels of service to be provided in the Town. The board annually adopts the Town budget which reflects the cost of conducting operations and monitors Town operations. In its legislative capacity, the Board passes resolutions and enacts ordinances and laws which govern the functions of town government and ensure the safety and well-being of all residents.
The duties of the Town Planning Board are to review site plans, special use permits and housing developments for compliance with environmental regulations, conformance with the Town's comprehensive plan and to safeguard the future growth of our community through a balance between commercial, industrial and residential uses.
The Board of Zoning Appeals shall have the power, duty and authority to hear and decide variances, appeals, special exceptions, and map interpretations, and to exercise such other powers as may be granted by New York State law and the Town of Wilton Town Code.
The Park & Recreation Commission meets the first Monday of every month at 7:00 pm at Gavin Park located at 10 Lewis Drive, Saratoga Springs, NY.
The Board of Assessment Review (BAR) is a five member board whose members are appointed by the Town Board.
The Ethics Advisory Board (EAB) shall consist of five members, each appointed by unanimous vote of the Town Board. Each appointee must reside in the Town of Wilton. The chair shall be selected by a majority vote of the Town Board.
Recognizing the Town of Wilton's rich history and acknowledging that the preservation, protection, enhancement and continued use of historic structures and sites serves the best interests of all the people a Historic Preservation Board was established for the purpose of furthering the goals, preservation, protection, perpetuation and use of landmarks and historic areas, certain buildings, historic districts or landmarks for designation that have been identified. Those buildings, districts and landmarks are so designated on the Schedule of Designated Historic Districts, Buildings and Landmarksavailable in the Town offices.
The Town Code Revision Committee is tasked with periodically reviewing potential revisions and, when necessary, making recommendations to the Town Board for consideration. As revisions are considered, there will be opportunities for the public to provide input throughout the process, including, for instance, written comments and public hearing.
