Front Flail Mower

The Trackless Front Flail Mower was designed to cut heavier grass, weeds, scrub, and light brush where a standard rotary lawn mower cannot cope. An enclosed mower housing and rubber safety skirt keep the cut grass, mulch, and other debris within the cutting chamber, allowing for safe mowing near roads, parks, and other busy or populated areas.

Large front gauge wheels, a full-width gauge roller, and a unique push-frame design give the mower front-to-rear flexibility of 10 degrees, allowing the attachment to tip forwards or back, following the contour of the terrain. This design is superior to the standard 3-point hitch type mount, where the mower can only travel straight up and down, leaving an uncut area when driving over a knoll or divot.

The design of the Front Flail Mower attaching system also provides 13 degrees of side-to-side flexibility. The heavy-duty, PTO-driven rotor shaft has thirty-three 2 3/4″ wide hanging cup knives; the knives can be re-sharpened without being removed. Anti-wrap shields protect the bearings on the rotor and gauge roller, ensuring durability and long-lasting performance.

Specifications

The Front Flail Mower weighs 1100 pounds. The cutting width of the attachment is 74″. The rotor tube is 4″ in diameter and includes ¼” wall drawn over mandrel (DOM) tubing with a 1 7/16″ through shaft.

The mower is PTO driven with the final drive by way of two V belts and a spring-loaded idler. The two caster wheels are 16″ x 4″ with flat-free laminated tires, designed to withstand tough mowing conditions.
