After a successful run at the races, Unusual Heatwave retires from the racetrack to start the next leg of his journey as a stallion. Beginning at the start of 2015, Unusual Heatwave entered Stud. He will be standing at BG Thoroughbreds in Hemet, California for the 2017 season.

Trained by Alexis Barba for Teresa McWilliams and Montecito Stables, Unusual Heatwave is a Three-Time Stakes winner and a 3 Year Old Cal-Bred Champion with earnings of $488,752. Defeating Rousing Sermon in the Real Good Deal Stakes, Unusual Heatwave also successfully took 1st in the Snow Chief Stake, carrying on his half-brother, Alphie's Bet(GRIII Winner), legacy. Later Unusual Heatwave also went on to win the Crystal Water Stakes.

Out of Cand's Gold's mare, Miss Alphie and California Leading Sire Unusual Heat, Unusual Heatwave won at distances ranging from 6 1/2 Furlongs to 1 1/8 Miles on Turf and Synthetic.
