Oven Baked Macaroni and Cheese
Many moons ago, back when I posted one of my own recipes a week…I posted my Crock Pot Macaroni and Cheese Recipe. It’s a favorite of mine. But every now and then – you don’t want to wait ALL day for your Macaroni and Cheese to cook! So I’m thankful today for Janelle (from Comfy In the Kitchen) who has an awesome Oven Baked Macaroni and Cheese recipe! The ultimate in comfort food! Janelle writes:
There are so many different ways to prepare Mac n Cheese…different cheeses, different methods of cooking, even different noodles! This is my family’s recipe…it is very simple, creamy, and oh so yummy! This dish is made at most of our family gatherings because it is easy to double. Enjoy!
Melt together butter, cream, milk, salt and pepper over med heat
Add Velveeta
In boiling water, add 2 cups of dry macaroni and cook until al dente (soft/firm- not mushy)
“Pam” a dish with high sides (DO NOT use a 9×13 pan)
Drain macaroni (Do not rinse!)
Add macaroni into pot with cheese sauce and stir (it will seem runny, but it thickens as it bakes)
Place uncovered in oven set at 350 and bake for 35-45 mins
Ahhhhhh…..Comfort Food bliss!!
Enjoy!

I am counting calories, and I can’t even imagine how naughty that is! It looks yummy ~ my family would love it.
Oven baked dishes are so handy, and this mac and cheese sounds delicious. Thank you for sharing it!
Great! I like it!
Boy, you sure picked the perfect recipe to share on a snowy WV morning. I’m off to scour the kitchen for velveeta and elbow macaroni. Thanks.
Noooooo! I was contemplating a grocery run, and now my healthy fish dinner is going to be sabotaged
by this delicious dish!!!
Oh geez! I want this so badly! I’m on WW and wondering how many points this has. Hmmm. Maybe if I only eat fruit the rest of the day….
So I ended up making this and my hubby and I both loved it! And it was so easy! Today I mixed it with homemade chili for lunch, which was also great! Thanks for sharing! I’m adding it to my new list of faves!
I’m so glad to see this recipe and see the word “creamy”! LOL
I have made SO many oven recipes that are supposed to turn out great mac and cheese and to me I’m thinking this stuff is not creamy and cheesy it’s too dry, and never mind leftovers….. Can’t wait to try yours!
Ooooh!!! That looks yummy!! But we don’t do Velveeta… Is there a way to do it with real cheese?
You can use American Cheese or cheddar cheese as a,substitute since it melts very well!! I too don’t like using valveeta as well also you can add cream cheese instead if heavy cream itll make it a lot creamier!!
Thanks for posting this…again. I’ve made this before, but it’s been a while. Will be on the menu at some point this week! Bring on the comfort carbs!!!
What type of cream do I use???
what kind of cream???????
I think she means heavy whipping cream but I used milk in it’s place and it worked!
Cream cheese also make it very creamy if you don’t want to use cream!! Itll give it a more creamy texture!!
Followed the recipe as given and the family really liked it a lot. Thick and creamy and easy to make. The second time I made it I added 1/4 t dry mustard, a cup of cubed ham and 1/2 of grated carrot for an amazing casserole. Thanks so much for sharing
I HAVE A QUESTION……CAN I USE HEAVY CREAM??
Just wondering what the finished product looks like… I just made… seems like lotsa grease on top…. I baked longer than it said. I did use cheddar and I had to use milk as I didn’t have cream
Is this 880 calories per serving???
