Residents had a surprise visitor last week. Liz our night duty AIN brought in a baby joey for us to meet. Residents were very excited to see and touch the joey.
Some of the residents even commented that they had not had the pleasure of touching and patting a joey before in their life, so they were really moved by the experience.
The joey was carried in a pillowslip, replacing the feeling of being in the mum’s pouch and residents got to watch the joey sucking on its toe. We look forward to hopefully having another visit from baby joey again soon – maybe a little bigger next time!
