One of the great things about having kids is that they can eventually start doing things for you. I’m not even kidding. I only wish I knew sooner what sorts of things I could have my kids do. It’s hard to shift into that mode though. We start out with these helpless babies that we have to do everything for. They can’t do anything at first and we get used to seeing them as our little babies, even while they push the limits of what they can do. When you can get your kids helping out at home, it frees up more time that can be spent having fun with your kids. It also helps your kids start building good habits at an early age when they can start being responsible.
Supervise Your Kids
This list of age-appropriate chores requires a certain extent of adult supervision. Take into account your child’s individual abilities and maturity level. The chores may not be done perfectly and definitely not efficiently at first, but you are teaching great skills and spending time with your kids. It’s a win-win! Start having your kids do household chores as early as 2 years old. There are lists of chores for age ranges, 2-3, 4-5, 6-8, 9-11, and 12-14.

The types of chores for from putting away toys and dirty laundry, to cleaning out the refrigerator and mowing the lawn. In some cases, throughout each stage, they may be perfectly capable on their own, but you should keep an eye on them.
